What’s been your best Rico Richards moment so far?

Not digging the lad out but there’s no way in this world should Paton be sat on the bench over him or Hackford.

Darren Moore may just be the most frustrating manager we will ever have.

Rico Richards should have been fed all half our best moments when he was .

Having said that he keeps starting with Havkford who clearly isn't ready for league 2 I agree with that i said before game if they have big lumps Paton should start with chislett who runs at players .

Drawing the game is no big deal BYERS  going off injured is as even though there theatrical divers Daleyesque Henegan (leader )replaced at half time no idea why as he looked assured enough to me and Byers (leader) .

Once we scored we were generally leaderless as we gave them a foothold in the game I was astonished and very disappointed about that .

140 away fans as soon as I saw there following I knew Vale wouldn't quite be at it and with generally Tuesday night games because of work and champions league on well 4533 there so only 4393 home could be bothered watch a team who had won 3 out 4 games .

Tuesday never win strikes again

Obviously like all I was very very disappointed with the result and performance. What was noticed in the first half the number of times the forwards made a run nobody had the guts to play the ball just content to lazily play along the back. You could see some of the lads getting frustrated.  We are so slow at moving the ball forwards the high line Colchester played was crying out for a ball over the top. We need to be much better and much quicker. We also need a bit of shooting practice! You only lean back when you are playing rugby! We can and should do much better than last night.

Hennegan had been booked so probably that as Tovide for all this diving and rolling around did have him for pace.

My concern is we are treading water around 5th-10th with some unconvincing wins/draws, with a squad that most managers in the league would trade theirs for in a heartbeat. We should be smashing teams like last night at home to prove we can roll with the big spenders when they come along. I think the next 2 games will be interesting: expensive squads, expected to do well, picking up points and scoring goals.

It will be interesting to see how we perform against strong opposition. As you say, we are underperforming compared to what we should expect with our team.

Doesn't matter what the crowd is mate

The players should be going for the jugular every game they set foot on that pitch it shouldn't make a difference which day they are playing on , go out there and entertain us

A few marks

Ripley 4 I think we all have gone over his mistake probably bored had nowt do I'd switch off in fairness to him .

Cover 5 did well till we scored then was stretched a lot and struggled ,it's a big ask ask a academy player play 3 games in week ,should have being replaced .

Henegan 5 steady enough

Hall 5 could he have reacted quicker to there goal maybe he could of I don't know whether it was him or John but they put some excellent last ditch challenges in as game wore on and Vale got more sloppy than diarrhoea.

John 6 my joint  Vale man of the match

Sang 4

Garrity 5

Byers 5

Chislett 5.9

Stockley 5.8

Hackford 3

Subs

Debrah 6 great header, some great challenges and he nearly curled another in top corner.

Curtis 5 well you see the ability he has the fact we had little control in midfield during last 30 meant that we only saw it in spurts however if VAR was there Tolajs goal is a perfectly good goal so a assist would have being the outcome.

Croasdale 5 struggled last night .

Tolaj 5  scored a lovely taken goal I'm furious with the linesman must be a stripey eyed fan.

Just seen the incident that's a goal every day of week on X .

Tolaj is in line when Curtis takes the shot that's a goal just like I thought while at game .

So a very costly decision by linesman led to Colchester getting a point overall I felt because we sat back they deserved.

I may be wrong but as I see it Paton's competition has been Hackford these last two home games, both of which Hackford has shown nothing. Paton should be starting ahead of him.
Hackford is certainly no upgrade on Dipepa. Don't get why he is even being considered as a starter when Paton or Tolaj are fit and available. Maybe something to do with the terms of the loan agreement

I agree Chizzy was 0.1 better than Stockley last night

It was a poor performance last night. We never got going at all. Byers injury didn’t help as second half he would’ve controlled that midfield, kept the ball late on and got us up the pitch. Croasdale had a stinker when he came on. Garrity is non existent also. Thought Richards was lively down the wing and did well.

im glad Colchester didn’t start the game with the attack approach or I feel they would’ve beaten us last night. They upped their game after the goal and the centre backs were allowed to bring the ball out and play into midfield who then had space to create, resulting in getting their left winger in the game all the time.

Paton needs a few games now as does Ben Amos. Sort it out Darren. The unbeaten run still going but with two tough away games we need to win one just to stay around the playoff spots. Lose two and we’re back to where we were before this run started. We had to see that game out last night.

oh well onto notts county

Agreed, if it is part of the loan agreement then that's poor as he isn't up to the job right now.

Imagine being Walsall and thinking beat Fleetwood and we go top and shipping 6 against them at home, imagine being Gillingham and thinking beat Grimsby and we stay top and lose 1 nil, there is some over reaction on here, Colchester are not as bad as some make out.

I agree. Colchester should have been given every respect.

If this is DM 'saving players' for Notts (as someone suggested yesterday) then that is not only arrogant but delusional

I wonder if DM enjoys watching us play

If he was sat in the stands and paying to watch us play I reckon he'd be doing his nut in 🤔
