Considering it's the local delicacy/staple diet, I'd be disappointed if you couldn't get a decent pie in Wigan!

Oatcakes are the local delicacy/staple diet in these parts but you can still get a bad one.

I was under the impression that was paid for with an interest free loan from a rich vale fan.

That was the scoreboard,  not the pitch. But the capital costs still have to be repaid every month

Pitch was that bad , it simply had to get sorted.

Only Carlisle, Cheltenham and Northampton with smaller wage bill.

Now I didn't get my information from here but it perfectly backs up what I was told at the start of the season by a source* close the club
*no I cannot tell you who it is

They must be pretty clued up if they know not only our wage budget but that of every club in the league at the start of the season.

Depends on the Oatcakes

Poveys Oatcakes are spot👍 on where as

North staffs Oatcakes give the dining experience  of chewing rubber 😬

What does that work out at? Over 1200 worth of calories

Are you sure you are nippy after all that?

Each to his own. Nobody I speak to would agree with you on Poveys, although he sells plenty so they must have more fans than just your good self.

As we’re on the topic, does anyone know what’s going on with Hamil Oatcakes?  I notice they’ve been shut for a few weeks now.

I saw a post on Facebook burslem mother town page saying the new owners are looking to sell it already. Basically they arnt making enough money from it so want to sell the business. The man and women who had it previously to these new owners had it for years, ran it well and successfully but have now retired hence why they sold it. Hopefully it gets brought by new owners who want to run it properly as everytime I used to go there Sunday morning it was busy.

Povey's are the best I can get online here in Brum. Occasionally you can find the North Staffs ones, but they're rubbery and horrible in comparison, as mentioned above.
