I am so pleased to have been able watch through those times and just before with Jones,Futcher,Earle,Beckford etc

I just hope my lad will get to experience all those highs one day just like i did

All those years stood in the Lorne Street with Mum and a neighbour. Her first game was Wimbledon at home when Bob Newton scored a pen. The joys of the Spurs,Bristol Rivers games and from that season on it was Dreamland

I'm not a greedy or a demanding person. All I need is a big, commanding, dominant centre half and Kyle John to sign. See? That's not too much is it?

No disrespect but how do you know Kyle John would be any good?  Never been out on loan.  Totally unproven at League 2 level. He’s one that falls firmly into “highly rated” category for sure.

In contract centre halves at steps 4-6 sorted by supposed market value, excluding players who've just signed this summer. Smith is top to give an idea of the reliability of the market value rating!

RBs

CBs who can also play both full back positions

Any names catch the eye?

6"6 Ryan Inniss is listed as playing for FGR but I think he's actually a free agent.

You don’t spend 17 years at Everton if you haven’t got something about you. Been close to breaking in the first team that’s maybe a reason why he’s not been sent on loan. And possibly clinging onto hopes he can make the breakthrough which he obviously hasn’t . Everton don’t seem to loan too many of their youngsters out either. Sometimes this type of player just needs a chance, I’d rather us take a chance & if it doesn’t work then so be it. Not every transfer this window will be a success. He’s highly rated, a good age & fans who’ve seen him in our friendlies have been impressed by him

I think you’ve forgotten how many highly rated young players we’ve had on loan in recent times that haven’t cut the mustard.  I’m not saying this or that player isn’t worth a chance by the way but it’s more of a gamble than signing an experienced pro, and we all know even that’s a gamble.  We’ve taken a punt on Tolaj and Payton but they’ve performed regularly in the men’s game at least, so it’s less of a punt.  So for me not a player I’d be unhappy about but at the same time wouldn’t be crying out to sign.  It goes without saying that I’d love him to be a gem we’ve unearthed, go on to star for us before earning us a lot of money in transfer fees.

Fair points, I don’t mind taking a gamble on him myself after the business so far. Suppose the management team will know more about him having seen him day in day out with the squad. Time will tell if he gets a contract or not mate 👍🏻

With Seamus Colman & Leighton Baines a fixture in their defence it was always going to be difficult to break in. If he is anywhere near their standard he will do for me.

I'm hoping in Paton we're are going to have another Tony Naylor on our hands. If togetherness is a reason for success I think we'll have a good season emoji1696.pngemoji1696.pngemoji1696.pngemoji1696.png

Tony Naylor was my favourite Vale player since I first saw the Vale in 1973....👍💖💖✔️
