I heard an interview with Lee Bell this morning where he was saying he was hoping to bring in 2 or 3 more over the next 2 or 3 weeks,he says there are good players out there but some out of contract players just dont like pre season training so will wait until the majority of that's done(must of had a book off Flitcroft with his lines in it). Seems odd that a player wouldn't want to get fit but who knows

Lee Bell is the new Artell. Talks b s

Still plenty of time for all teams to sign players yet so I’m not sure what the fuss is about.
In Bradfords case they’re building from a reasonably strong foundation, a squad that just missed out on the playoffs, whilst we’re recruiting against a backdrop of two very poor seasons with a squad bereft of goals, creativity and toughness.
And a sh1te defence. Didn't have much going for us by the end did we?!

Just too many players across the board who weren’t of the required standard for that level.  It didn’t help the defence that teams sussed we were powderpuff up front they could basically attack at will without being hit by a sucker punch.  We were effectively suckers without a punch.

Hopefully we have sorted the goal scoring issues now(couldn't of got any worse really could it),it's now time to try and make the defence more solid,as you say there is plenty of time for everyone still to strengthen and still plenty of decent players out there who will be getting a little more desperate to get signed up as the season gets ever closer, 3 weeks this Saturday 😮

I still think relegation should see many of the players left from last season look a lot better this time around so I’m not that worried by our central defenders at this level, maybe we’re a bit short on height.  We really need some genuine cover for Clarke and possibly also on the left, although I guess we could slot someone in either position but it wouldn’t be ideal.

If we really are “going for it”, as seems to be the case, you’d have to think the defence will be strengthened further.

From MB's the Valiant -

The last time Vale started back at this level after going down, their team on the opening day was:

Rob Lainton, Anthony Kay, Lawrie Wilson, Gavin Gunning, Nathan Smith, Cristian Montano (Dan Turner, 45), Marcus Harness (Ben Whitfield, 84), Danny Pugh, Michael Tonge (Billy Reeves, 65), Tom Pope and Anthony De Freitas.

Imagine believing that the goals teams concede are solely down to defenders.

Sadly as it stands there is no room for him in that position at Vale now

There is room, especially if we want him to progress, Not all our MF will play every minute of every game. If there is a sense that the lead we have built up should see us win a game, then key players mat be substituted to protect them for the next game, and subs like Planty given minutes to play without the pressure of last season, where he was, largely, played out of position. The benefit of a strong squad.
