It feels bloody fantastic doesn't it.

Nice to be the big boy with a 'competitive' budget a big name manager attracting players rather than scratching around for value cast offs on deadline day.

Getting carried away on 48 minutes.

I must admit I can't be doing with all these tossers on YouTube ranking this and that with predictions.

Looks decent - surely this wouldn't happen?

This would be crazy. I remember when he signed for Sheff Wed in L1, he was seen as a massive coup then for them! He's probably not had enough game time in 2 seasons and kick on but what a ridiculous signing this would be ( in a good way).

4 weeks ago I would have laughed at this link but now its like anything really is possible.

One thing for sure we no longer acting like little old Port Vale thanks to Darren Moore aided by Carol & Kevin's financial commitment.

Same. Looks like Harry Enfield and Josh Widdecombe’s kids chatting football. I couldn’t watch it.

While Wilks would be a great signing, it would surely mean someone like Chislett was off - how on earth does Moore keep Garrity, Chislett, Plant, Curtis, Tolaj, and Paton happy??

I would also think that while Wilks would be great, I would much rather keep what we have up front now and stick more of the budget into a proper no nonsense centre back who could be a leader at the back.

The consistent vibe I’m getting from Sheff Wed fans commenting on social media is expensive sicknote. Several have described him as lazy. Never ending stream of “I’ll drive him there.” etc.

Not too sure whether it’d be a good idea tbh.

But Nathan Smith is actually a better defender than our other centre backs. He rarely misses a game and six managers have now seen fit to play him virtually every week. They must see something in him.

Better than other centre backs .

Matter of opinion Granville .

Where all them managers now .

They all fired .

Knew you would pipe up .

Do you enjoy watching Vale lose .

Like I say that's your view my view is he is a very underwhelming footballer, but league 2 he is  ok generally, not a world beater as we have lost  many (many )games in league 2 when he as represented us ,so well he better be if Moore sees fit  select him, or he be going same way as all the other managers we have had .

Enjoy the season Granville and remember Port Vale is bigger than NS .

Look at the bigger picture fella when got relegated at Bolton ran down tunnel didn't even give a damn about you , and all of you who love him

That tells you something doesn't it .

It tells me loud and clear he be gone if any interest in him for sure and who's to say we wouldn't be better without him the game I enjoyed the most last season 3 -2 v Wigan he didn't even play so there's life after him .

Tbf we get a lot of that from fans of former clubs for certain players.

All I will say is that IF we sign him then I trust DM's judgement on that one as he has worked with him before and I can't see him being one to put up with lazy players

I would like a CB either today or tomorrow that would be lovely

The only thing that would worry me about Wilks is his injury record. There's no doubt about his quality and he's exactly what we've been talking about in a pacy wide man, to be something different and change a game.

Like others say, I think we still need a proper commanding centre back. I really can't see us being able to get Batth, but after Byers nothing would surprise me.

Then we need a full back (if we're greedy two). Once we get past Clark and Hart, then we're using Grant and Sang and we all know what a disaster that is. I can see this position being filled by loan players though.

Think we would all like a centre half & full back in next, if we were to bring another attacking option in then it does make you wonder if someone is on their way. Or possibly the gaffer is looking to loan the likes of Plant & Shorrock out for the season. I don’t see how they are getting many minutes with so many offensive players. I’m all for a wide man with tricks & pace though 🤩

There are only 3 people that share the same opinion on Nathan Smith like you.

You, Phil Myatt and Devine Intervention.

How bizarre

Just hope their predictions work out for Vale (last in their prediction list review if you haven't seen it - to save you searching through).  And they did this before we got another transfer in and some going out.  Great they thought we had done awesome transfer work as well.  Most of the players in they think would easily command higher clubs attention.  Well done Vale.

Wonder if we will get more news of incomings and out goings.
