I remember going to Liverpool v PSG where Liverpool won 3-2 in injury time. Second half PSG started to play exceptional football and came from 2-0 down at HT. A problem was Mo Salah. He needed to come off because Liverpool needed legs and tackling to cope with the onslaught. Klopp left it too late, but eventually bought Milner on. Milner toughened the side up. But he also produced a superb bending cross when closed down and near the corner flag that was only cleared to Firmino on the edge of the box who scored. 

So what I am saying is that many forwards who sprint and close down from the front run out of steam. They have to come off then or a team is playing with 10 men. It doesn't matter if it's Uche or in this case Salah one of the to[ strikers in the PL. 

I think Uche will benefit from a pre season if still at PV. But with his strength and size, plus the effort he puts in, he will usually gas after an hour. 

Firstly uche doesn’t chase down people that much. Secondly there’s a difference between one example of a sub to tighten things up and a player who Isn’t fit enough to play 90 mins. Salah has shown time after time that he can play 90 mins. The comparison is nonsense.

Reading have released Clinton Mola a 23yr old defender who has featured in their squad regularly   for them this season,also midfielder Sam Hutchinson 34 who will be known to Moore as i think he played at Sheff Wed for him? along with a couple of left backs

Scratch that on Hutchinson as i have just read that he has been limited to 26 appearances in 2 seasons due to injuries

I doubt really that there will be much movement before June but it would be nice to get an early one in to show we mean a bit of business this summer.

Can anyone remember when we actually made our first signing last summer?

Wasn't Sang our first signing last summer? And that wasn't until June? I might be wrong.

It is early days, however I remember how the signing of Ernie Moss, albeit in the later stages of his career, to me made a bit of a statement. I always felt that he opened the "credibility door" that helped other signings.

I think we have signed a few over the years when you thought no way... Futcher,Slaven,Houchen even Gibson from Man Utd was it  and the like

Even Joe Allon surprised me at the time
