The interview with Darren Moore showed he's a good coach. There was a lot of techniques mentioned he's using to boost low confidence. It's something hard to do in sport. He's obviously doing things to shore up the defending and working on the attacking play. I'm pleased he's the manager.

But the bottom line is the players need to step up to the level required. If you leave strikers in L1 unmarked, they are much more likely to score than in L2. When attacking, a L1 defence is much better than a L2 defence. There is gulf and we need to bridge it now - not soon - now. Today is just such a big game. I hope PV find the battling qualities and improve by way of taking in the coaching given. 

The team selected must be solid at the back first of all. If Burton are a direct team it's the players who best handle that. In front of goal we must start taking our chances. 

Don’t disagree that DM and his coaching staff may well be very good but ultimately you can only get so much out of the players you have. Just look at our set piece defending. I am pretty certain they’ll have done extensive work on it but the same old issues are arising and it costs us game after game. To get some semblance of organisation / defence against corners should be one of the easiest things to sort out for them but these players are incapable. Starting with the captain.

I agree...30 odd games in and defending set pieces has been a weakness all season,put that with no strike force and it's a recipe for disaster 😬

Looks like 3 at the back which doesn’t please me at all. Never mind strikers the recruitment of the wingback position has been sackable in itself.

Either way come on Vale. Be a great time for Loft to hit form if he can.

Its a difficult task picking the players. Is there currently such a thing as a strong Vale side? Just listening to Sproey  on the radio , he reckons this is our best side from what is available.

It’s a good point to be honest. Don’t think there’s been a combo that hasn’t been tried and all have had roughly the same effect bar fleeting moments.

Guess at this point we’re unlikely to see Dan Gore either. You’d have thought given the length of time he’s been out they as well have announced terminating his loan. They did with the one from Liverpool.

Need our better players to turn up today. Need a performance from Ojo, Wilson and Garrity to carry the others through. Happy Lowe and jones aren’t involved both utter garbage.

DiPepa would cost them a lot more he’s already on a senior contract now.
