Lincoln City (H) match thread - 24th Feb

Chislett kept dribbling in the wrong areas giving the ball away. Wilson is a poor target man. Deborah looked OK to me. Sang has the ability but is very short of confidence. Weir is coming along. Smith and Jones threw the game away.

We were not worse than Lincoln today. The stats other than the goals say that. That's not to say either side were much kop.

Dreaming of Zak mills and David Fitzpatrick down the right and left and Reggie up top. A little bit of Michael tongue in the middle and we’re sorted

Jason Lowe is the new Micheal Tongue but he's even slower.

1st thought can he player it backwards, 2nd thought can he play it the goalkeeper 3rd thought kick it out. He's simply not a L1 standard midfield player.

It is a shocker from smith, but why is Ripley over there? Is he expecting to take it or to allow smith to pass it back to him?

Christ its worse watching it - heard it on ifollow and thought he had ran onto .  No Smith passed it to him and then didn't even try to get into the player.

It must go down as an assist to Smith.

Yes should’ve been a draw, but sadly two braindead idiots ruined it.

Darren says the first goal was a bizarre goal. I can think of better words to use than that! I thought he was a tough character who won’t take any nonsense. Far too much of a nice guy I’m sorry nice guys won’t cut it. The whole club is full of ‘ nice guys ‘

Lincoln didn't have to do anything. They knew that. Training match for them

Spineless, gutless, useless. An affront to this club.

I don't like giving individuals stick - but the performances of some today was an utter disgrace to the name of Port Vale. They deserved every bit of stick they got at the end, and to be quite honest got off fairly lightly. It was bereft of any positives. They're an aberration.

David Flitcroft has blown this club up. 31 defeats in 54. The worst team in League 1 for 14 months by a considerable margin. 3 wins in nearly 6 months. An abject record in the transfer market at this level, carried by loaning a couple of teenagers.

Carol, however, needs to take a look at herself. She has been conned by a smooth-talking fraud who used us as a toy for a couple of days per week.

Her patronising letter to the fanbase will go down as the worst thing she's done - apart from appointing David Flitcroft.

The fans have repeatedly warned against a lot of the mistakes the club has made, but the obvious contempt the club holds the fans in, the need to 'educate' us unwashed illiterate plebs, ensures that the warnings were unheeded. All of this was avoidable. Don't give it to Crosby. Sign a striker. We were all saying this!

We're going down because Flitcroft hasn't a clue what he's doing and Carol has put her personal obsession with him above the best interests of PVFC and its 6000 fans. She'd rather keep him happy, and keep the heat off him, rather than accept us idiots were right last summer.

Most of these jokers are under contract. Not an ounce of fight in them. We will be seeing Grant, Loft, Sang, and Lowe in League 2 next season. Crewe and Stoke will be laughing at us from League 1. Wembley has been rendered futile - a brief glimpse of happiness, destroyed by a bloke coming in on Tuesdays and Thursday and an owner unable/unwilling to get a grip on matters.

Despite a few hundred letting their displeasure known, most trudged out with forlorn acceptance today. Back down we go. No fight left in them. Dicko packing in the funbus.

Meanwhile, Carol will be tapping away at another letter saying how thick we all are as 'Flickers' and Paddy pore over the blueprints for the Vale Park Megadrive, or something. She will briefly consider 'what if the fans were right? What if Flitcroft isn't very good?', but will quickly dismiss such heretical thoughts and remember that Flickers is really good and has met every target.

They aren't bothered about us, lads and ladies. 31 defeats in 53, but somehow we're the thickos in the wrong. They'll continue enjoying a nice little gig closeted in the posh seats, and we'll continue traipsing to the portaloos in a crumbling stand as our 'team' give up at the first sign of challenge.

Absolutely fuming, and really wish I didn't care.

I don’t think he’s suited to relegation battles. Needed someone like Clarke who’s not afraid to give them a boot up the arse.

If you watch our free kicks in our own half 40 yards from goal Ripley ALWAYS takes it. If not the ball is tapped to him to dribble forward and then kick long.

<ovf censored> knows what Smudge is thinking. He's had as proper brain fart.

Willo can’t play unless he has a striker next to him. We all know this

TY. I saw that the ref had awarded the free kick looked away for a second then I see their player with the ball and it in the net. Another PVFC manager who seems not to see what the crowd are have by to witness from the terraces.
