I think RobF should contact the club and see if he can arrange a game during the closed season with the first team. I’d have suggested the youth team but they’d be like whippets and our average age on the conservative side has got to be 45+

Brian - on a serious note: i've just been told that Gale's car was in the Vale car park earlier.  From what i've been told there's talk (and I emphasise the work talk) about a weekly fee till the end of the season plus a deal on goals scored.

I've no idea if the conversations were successful or complete or, if successful, timeframes he'd start.  Honestly thats all I know.

Regardless of what Stoke fans say, for a league 1 side currently in the relegation zone you will do better to find a better signing than that.

We do need to take action. We have in the context of the manager. But we have struggled to find someone to score enough goals aside from Garrity. It must be corrected. People rightly complain we haven't signed a striker in the window, but I think it's hard to sign one who for the money invested will seriously guarantee goals. I see Gayle as a bit like John Aldridge at Tranmere or indeed Hughes when he came to Port Vale. They may be getting on in years but they hit the target in the box. It also seems like he has credibility as a midfield player. So win win.
