I’m not saying Clarke didn’t have some of those qualities, but that’s what we need I reckon.

I know less than zero about Vale's finances, but haven't we had a rather good 18 months with promotion via a Wembley final, sold-out hospitality boxes, increased attendances, seemingly hoovering up lots of conference and events business, huge numbers of Derby, Wednesday and Bolton visiting supporters etc? Or have we spent fortunes on ground improvements, job creation and overnight stays that have wiped out any profit?

It's a bit worrying if we're skint after the year and a half we've had.

If Crosby does well in the last four games it’s his to lose. Get relegated and he’s out the door with all the other staff and players.

£1 million was spent on  ground improvements alone in preseason. We have employed 130 more staff as well.

Unfortunately we won't know about this season until this time next year as the club only releases the accounts for the previous season around the end of March, so i can't comment on big away followings.

I doubt a trip to wembley and promotion will have earned us much because I imagine the players have bonuses in their contracts.

We aren't 'skint' as you put it, we have got cash to pay the bills, it's just that Carol has put in £5.5 million in to the club and that doesn't include what she bought it for, and she wants to cut back a bit, this doesn't mean we have no money
