Leaving Scotland for England to be a Referee for league 1 and 2 next season. Safe to say he's definitely caused quite the stir over the years with some ropey decisions.

I know it gets said a lot and we tend to blame defeats on refs/officials but I do think the standard of refs and linesmen for that matter has been terrible over the last few years.

Madley isn't a top flight ref and was absolutely appalling in the League 2 play off final last year where he completely shafted Newport.

I didn't think that he was particularly good in the 'Game of Throws' vs Exeter either.  I certainly didn't get my moneys worth in that game.  Be lucky if it was in play for 50% of the time and he added minimal additional time on too as I recall.

I was very impressed with Madden last time he reffed us, and said as much at the time. The only game bar the PO final that we've had a ref who viewed 50/50 challenges as just that, and didn't just guess a foul for the sake of it. Think it was Madden anyway.
