Just been listening to radio Stoke praise and grumble.....

Yet AGAIN the commentator keeps calling COLIN Garlic CARL Garlic throughout the interview AS he did the last time at least....

Poor COLIN was clearly too embarrassed to correct the CHUFF......

Probably because the main contribution on RS comes from the infamous Carl the whinger . Got the two mistaken.

RS is atrocious. On the odd occasion I've heard Nigel Johnson on lard it's a cringefest when he regularly can't distinguish between a white player and a black player.

Yes I realised WHY he kept calling him CARL but I THOUGHT journalists were supposed to PREPARE before interviewing LIVE!!?

Did anyone else hear Praise and Grumble after the Salford game when a lady Stoke fan phoned up and basically insinuated Nigel is going senile and is crap. She was cut off very quickly but it gave me a chuckle.

Suprised she was cut off to be honest the other month I am sure someone swore on air without anyone saying anything and they still uploaded it to their iplayer/sounds! Think it was a P and G with Lucas a while back.

Heard it, couldn't believe my ears. Great radio though.

To be fair to Blakeman I think he was saying Col as opposed to Carl. Blakeman does tend to act quite overly pally with people that come on the radio - not sure how well he actually knows Colin to shorten his name but as negative Carl is on every week I can see how it sounds similar. Makes a change anyway usually it's the callers getting the presenters names wrong. There is one presenter who is fairly new I think who sounds similar to Sandoz and someone thought it was him as they kept calling him Matt.

The quality of Radio Stoke is fairly poor.

Football journalism/content is at its highest level, with podcasts, long-read articles, and YouTube offering fans better and more engaging insight than ever before.

Radio Stoke sticks with the tired formula of call-ins and match commentaries. Both good and important, but they've already been flanked by Ale and Vale and I hope, as the club grows in success, more fan-led media efforts spring up. There's a young lad who interviews the players outside the Lorne Street post-match, as well as Josh on Twitter.

I think we're seeing a gradual erosion of the 3pm blackout in the UK, starting with lockdown and the improvements to iFollow, and I think the EFL are concerned about the wider use of VPNs/firesticks. The fact they've let us show the Exeter game is testament to their weakening resolve. When, eventually, the 3pm ban is lifted, Radio Stoke will fade even further.

They need to rethink their approach massively. I've never been one demanding we get more attention than Stoke, as that's daft, but bar Bowers who gives it his all, the station offers very little to Vale fans. The patronising comments of Lee Blakeman questioning 'what good will protests do?' when B&G was trying to shift Smurthwaite stick in the memory.

I've never forgotten Blakemans comment during the demonstrations to a caller " You should be grateful you have a club what more do you want" ?
