Alarm bells ought to be ringing by the fact that many of the dependable players, the backbone of the team, have been underperforming.

You're right. Smith only plays well next to a physically dominant centre half.

That's not to say he's bad, but he is a very specific defender. Hence his struggles this season with Legge poor and Brisley not dominant enough.

Read ValeParkLife, he has written most of his after match chat.  It's the same every match with the normal:

• A couple of the players made a silly mistake.
• We are working through the errors in training sessions.

And to think a few weeks back I was hoping of us being tier 2 to watch the vale. 

 

Well at least Askey won't be able to say that we drew the second half and we can build on that.

Why hasn't Askey brought a snowman on for Legge? More mobility and cooler in a crisis. Give him the captains armband.
