Saturday's protest

smithie

Where? What time? Are the Sentinel covering it?
This is the problem smithie. We need to promote these protests more widely. The more people we can get out to the better. Need social media, sentinel, supporters club etc etc to firmly push this to those that don't have as much input into matters as those associated with the above. We need numbers to turn up.

The sentinel said at 2pm in Burslem mate, walking up to the ground protesting, to stop at 2.45 outside the ground presumably for those that want to go to the game to watch. I’d imagine Mark Porter would be in charge of promoting the event.

Coffin March.

Vale won 7-2 against...... Morecambe.

Your worries are factually proven to be wrong.

Do you want a club? We are running out of time.

Well said. This protest will help galvanise the supporters. It's all before the match and, as stated, ends at 2:45pm outside the ground. Those of us who go into the ground will be 100% behind the players and the new manager. If anything, it will improve the atmosphere.

I agree but I'm glad there'll be no red cards... mainly because they're so naff, unoriginal and nowhere near hostile enough.

But it shows the overall response from the people in the ground not just the ones that have been on the march.

Although I live outside the area I am member of supporters club and am regular on ovf so I get info. I'm referring to many fans who aren't and have no access to there's things. I believe there are hundreds, maybe thousands of fellow Valiants who simply only get any info on match days in talks with other supporters or over a pint etc. Where I sit it's astonishing to find loads of regular fans who know nowt about the Club or it's goings on and are incredibly

astounded if I relate various stories or news bulletins to them! Imo this is why there is so much apathy amongst vale fans. There is a need to make available more snippets to fans although again I appreciate what Ali, supporters club and others try to do to update us.

Will there be a protest every week or just every now and then?

I feel a regular protest would grow and grow in numbers.

In my own opinion a sustained campaign needs to be waged against NS.

I don't think there are any firm plans for anything beyond Saturday, purely because it's important to keep him on his toes.

To be fair I only received the communication from the SC yesterday. Communication has always been a bit of a problem for the SC and it’s needed given the small numbers that attend meetings. Who runs their comms now? I would think in the interests of fairness if approached the sentinel and radio stoke would promote but to be widely promoted like you say they would probably have to invest in a concerted advertising campaign. Do they have a budget for this? Was comms discussed at their last meeting?

None of that is pertinent but I can see how you’re trying to derail the thread.

I'm sorry but I don't understand not having the red cards as a mark of the respect to Gordon Banks? Seems odd that too me - don't know how red cards would disrespect one of the greatest if not greatest keep of all time.... and even more important an absolute gentleman.

Will be at the protest but will continue not to go to home games whilst Mr Smurthwaite is owner/chairman.

I think the red card protest was planned to be at the referees first whistle, they didn't want people holding up the cards when he blew for the minutes applause. So I'm told anyway. Plenty more opportunities for it to happen this season.
