OK, Can we now seriously get united by the masses and protest against the main culprit in our demise.... Smurthwaite. We have to do everything possible now to get through to him. Whether you wanted Aspin to stay or not is now not the urgent thing on our agenda. Smurthwiate out has to be our number 1 priority and I would like to believe the majority of Vale fans who have any affinity with the Club join together and attempt to force him out. Our Club's life hangs in the balance.

Aspin was clearly out of his depth and should have walked many weeks ago to give a new manager a transfer window to work with. You can never take anything away from Neil Aspin for the player he was for the club. But as manager of Port Vale, in extremely difficult circumstances admittedly, he was woeful and every bit as bad as the likes of Glover and Sinnott who were crucified.

 

Good riddance. Now let's hope the next manager at least knows his best 11 soon enough and has some balls to go after teams instead of worrying so much about what the opponent can and can't do...

Quite true. But I still don't think that he should be credited for it like it's some sort of brilliant attribute for a manager to have. He could have come out in the Sentinel and said that Tyler Beech tosses him off every other evening and I'd have been alright with that had he got stuff a little more right on the pitch than he did.
