Match Thread - Port Vale v Notts County

Stabilization of defensive performance was essential and has much improved thankfully, however a improvement in our attacking performance is also required. Likely to be gradual until Manny and Monty are regulars in the team, in the meantime a bit more cohesion would not go amiss. Xmas idea, how about a poacher in the January Sales. Why not Whitfield and Miller running big spending Notts ragged for a 2-0 win? .

A good opportunity to keep the run going. I'll be purchasing my tickets for the cup game too on Saturday. Be nice to see ticket sales for that Sunderland game being pushed this week. Half time ticket sales in the ground next Saturday would be a good idea to try. Get Rudgey on the radio and internet plugging the game and talking about how important his own cup runs were to his fantastic managerial reign. A great opportunity to generate a buzz.

Poor management and ditched the type of player that was successful last season for them, ie physical experience. Losing Jorge Grant was a blow too. Could go down potentially as Kewell doesn’t seem the wisest move.

Game we should win but this is Vale we are on about! Take a narrow win again to keep the run going heading into the break from the league.

I'd settle for another performance like Saturday. Goodness knows they won't turn in one like Bury.

Incidentally, anyone expecting us to strengthen in January I think are going to be disappointed. Anyone decent is going to be under contract and I can't see Norman putting his hand in his pocket for a transfer fee. Better to wait until next summer IMO.

I would play the same formation with either Miller or Whitfield to start and see how it pans out 1st half. Kewell will probably play football from the back we will need to press their back line as we did second half against Bury. Vassell has done nothing wrong but would like to see Gibbons and Clarke as wing backs. Looking at the stats County can't keep a clean sheet so I would expect us to have chances and hopefully we will put a couple away.

True enough, Santa Claus often disappoints.

The club struggle to generate anything other than apathy. Mere fans can see what needs doing to stimulate sales of tickets, no-one at the club can.

Set it in your mind that we will off load a player(s) who is sold on.The player(s) that leave will be replaced by some lesser quality unheard of player.IF Smurf gets fined by the FA/EFL for what’s happening with Nuneaton then that will be the excuse why there is no money available to boost the squad. If anything other than this happens then it will a surprise/bonus.Norman didn’t really put his hand deep into the sweetie jar in 2014 January transfer window and we have gone downhill from then.
