So the rickster can’t play on Saturday because of a ban, so we should let him play score, then knock all the stuffing out of him until the next reserve game, were he will be on the subs bench!!!

See, the things that these players in the senior squad have got to learn is, if you can play well in your preferred position and help the team get a result you are going to be either

1. Dropped

2. Relegated to the bench

3. Not appear in the match day squad for the next month.

4. Played out of position

5. Have to give your place up to the fast and ever mobile Kay, Pugh,Tongue or the forgotten forward Barnett

6. The management will tell the media that your injured ( but your not they just tell the media you are so that they show that they are in control)

7. What the £¥{k are you thinking playing for the team and the fans.

What tonight did show us, though we still did too much aimless hoofing for my liking, is that we can actually get it down and move it through midfield, and do so without either Pope or particularly Manny in the line up, and in so doing actually create some really decent chances.

Now Mr Aspin, we all totally get doing so may be an alien concept for you, but if only you would consider persevering with it for just a few games longer (including when Pope and Manny return) you may find out that if used wisely, with belief, and players in their right positions, not only may it reap some benefit for you, the team and our points tally, the added bonus is that we will all enjoy it a lot more as well!!

The competition might not mean much to us at the moment, (might do if we win a couple of knock out matches?) but have to say, I've actually quite enjoyed both matches, and again tonight there were some bloody decent performances, which Miller apart, may well do them a lot of good for Saturday

That was a glorified reserve game. We didn’t have to get out of first gear to beat them. They didn’t offer any real threat. It was easy. When games are like that and a team is so superior then players aren’t going to be flying around at a high tempo because they are doing enough to win the game. Positives would be we had a couple of players get minutes under their belts after injury. I wonder if playing wingbacks was with an eye on Saturday, but playing it against a proper side would be an entirely different matter.

Remember it was against a team of kids.

Over half of our side weren’t much older.

Against a team of youngsters I grant you, but so what, it provided a perfect opportunity to experiment, to try something different, and to me that's a huge positive?

Not only that, if they hadn't been playing for us, the likes and quality of Hardcastle and Clarke, would have probably been playing against teams like us, so all bloody good youngsters.

Decent ish youngsters will always struggle against an 11. Men against boys to some degree. Tonight was the perfect time but aspin has done this basically every game. I don’t think you can take anything from the game personally, we won effectively against a youth side I don’t really see how it will affect Saturday. Maybe influence aspin to pick a couple of those who played tonight. But last time he did that that didn’t work. Horrible competition just a pointless match in my opinion. On to Saturday where it will all change again. Don’t even think miller would’ve started even if not suspended.
