southgate said when interviewed that crotias goal gave them a lift and we were getting overrun but think any changes he could make wouldnt have made a difference, this also shows why we ran out of ideas...

 

Credit to the team though they gave everything which is the minimum we ask for but in times gone by we didn't even get this off our national team.

 

Moving forward we have got to find a ball player/s as possibly shelvy and Wiltshire are the only 2 stand outs currently available and both didn't make it on the plane.

 

 

Personally think one of the teams of the tournament was Japan as their quality in keeping the ball and control was excellent (far better than a lot of teams) they have energy going forward but just a soft underbelly at the back and in the air--

for me Just realism, i'm England through n through but tend to judge with head not heart especially with England as we are all desperate for that trophy after so manydisappointments...ultimately with any tournament whether fa cup,champions league there will only be one winner and for 99% of the time a quality team will win them in our case we fall short but have pride they gave everything ,,,,the good thing with international teams its not dominated by transfer fees,wages etc etc just a case of picking from a certain pool of players of a country making it more pure but also limited with your quality available

Didn’t play well after the first 45 minutes, Trippier was garbage from the second half, obvious there was something not right then so should have been subbed, bit like Alli in the first game. Fair result and hope they beat France in the final.

Christ mate, you really are a miserable sod. Penalties have to be scored - ask Messi, ask Modric, ask Ronaldo. Three misses by three of the best players in the world compared to Kane's 100% record. Take away his deflected goal and he's still top scorer. He struggled tonight and I think we'll find he was carrying some sort of knock but he's been a talisman in this competition.

 

I hope you won't criticise Tom Pope this year if he scores a few penalties or gets a few deflections off his backside.

Lack of quality on the ball and lack of a true passing player cost us in the end.

 

The poster who thinks football is all about running needs to have a re-think.

when players aren't running you need runners to create space the only reason sterling is in the starting line up, once our levels dropped we offered nothing because our movement had gone , but agree as said before our inability to keep the ball, progress forward with the right paced pass is a step the England team need to make before we win anything...but this is a starting point and hopefully the kind of players we need are in the production line.

Great effort by England in this tournament , disappointed in Kane tonight looked knackered , loftus cheek should have been on instead of dier , we should of took the game too then again but bought on a defensive player , overall though it’s been good fun , just hope they step up in another 2 years
