Brexit again...

Actually there's something about that I'm struggling to resolve; the aerospace industry utilises a technique known as FMEA, for those of you unfamiliar with this it means Failure Mode & Effects Analysis. It's a never ending process that has massively contributed to the superb safety levels achieved in aviation. In a nutshell the idea is to consider any possible failure mode, consider the effects that failure may have and then put actions in place to either prevent that failure or to eliminate it becoming a disaster if it does happen.

So, if you used an FMEA approach to Brexit all the evidence screams there are multiple failure modes, by default many more than maintaining the status quo, and we have nothing but conjecture and blind faith as the actions to counteract those failure modes, things such as we COULD control immigration which we don't even know if it would be good or not, we COULD strike more favourable trade deals independently (be hard to beat today's EU deal with Japan), we COULD massively increase non-EU trade to replace our current 80% or so trading level within the EU. We COULD teach pigs to fly and we COULD return UK industry to the 'workshop of the world' but we all know how unrealistic those might be's are.

All this confuses me about F*** You All, as a trained aerospace engineer you'd he'd take a scientific and logical approach to what the best outcome is likely to be. Maybe, as pointed out by Aaron Banks of the freespending Leave campaign, appeal to emotions to override logic as the leave campaign could not win a logical argument.

Maybe FUA would care to expand?

Well I wouldn't like to expand on all that waffle but in a nutshell,if both sides revisited their RPN's they might avoid another Mission STS -51-L?

Another irrelevance, what has a space shuttle disaster got to do with Brexit?

Unless, though, you are for once being very subtle in referencing the failing O ring and the political pressure placed on the Morton Thiokol engineers to underwrite the out of specification demands made on that component prior to that disaster? A situation that could parody Brexit in so much as the political pressure placed on Parliament to underwrite a Brexit the majority of members know to be potentially disasterous whereby they are coerced into going along with it to preserve their own positions? Well, if it goes like the space shuttle we're headed for disaster aren't we!

You've missed the point. It's the leftie hypocrites I don't support. The ones who have double standards and carefully select their targets who they protest against. They'd much prefer to protest against someone who says nasty things than against people who actually deport and execute human beings.

If you support that kind of thinking let me know.

It is my thinking FUS that they all have double standards whether Left, Centre or Right of politics.

A lot,the way it's going.

If I hadn't replied to the FMEA post you would have been on my back.

You can't have it both ways?😂

I've had enough of idiots like you, you'll get what you've asked for post-Brexit but it won't be what you think you've asked for. Trouble is all you leave clowns are subjecting the rest of us to it as well.

The majority subjecting the minority.

Welcome to democracy.

Brexit is a great example of why democracy and especially the way it is often administered is an imperfect system. Just because a majority vote in a certain way doesn't make them right.

Unfortunately democracy is the most equitable system we have devised and as such we are destined to live with the consequences of its imperfections.

As I said, people on your side of the debate won't get what you think you voted for, unless of course you all just want out and to hell with the consequences whatever they are which is a very, very dangerous position.

We very rarely get what we voted for... more a distortion of what was promised, if we are lucky.

The system is imperfect but the imperfections stem from the people making the promises to get the votes not from the electorate.

We all live with those circumstances.

Exactly, and some of the 'promises' made to attract the leave vote were nothing short of scandalous, e.g., the £350m per week, control of immigration and a wonderful world of bountiful free trade with non-EU countries.

Sadly mate that's what politics has become.... promises to gain control, excuses when they aren't delivered.... and blame.
