A great misconception. We have all those things, we can change our political system whenever we like, e.g. , the voting system referendum a few years ago, we have always had total control of non-EU immigration but haven't done much with it for 70 years plus any EU citizens coming here have to work or can be returned after a short period but we've never applied that control effectively and we are not in the Euro so have total control of our monetary system, of course though you are referring to not having to pay a membership fee into the EU but by doing that we gain much more through access to a huge home market.

TBH if you're serious about thinking Jacob Rees Mogg is anything but a vile overprivileged oppressor of the ordinary population then I really have to question your sanity, unless of course you are a masochist, a wealthy industrialist or a member of the aristocracy.

No one knows what 'the people' want, that's why the government is having a civil war. Leave the EU was the slight majority, no further detail so no one knows if that means hard, soft or parboiled Brexit.

As I said way back in this thread no one is going to get what they voted for. Worse than that we'll all suffer for it too.

They are the opposition, they don't need to say until an election. Brexit could have been run by a National Committee of all parties, with the Govt running the country separately, instead of a 0ne woman show. Disaster from the beginning to where we are now.

But if a second referendum voted to reverse the first, wouldn’t that be what the people want? Would it be wrong for people to change their mind now they have seen the reality? It sounds like you aren’t confident leave would win?

 

And we have a choice between mays **** deal, a no deal and this imaginary deal that ‘everyone wants’ yet the EU won’t agree to (but hey, it will give a convenient excuse for leavers when it goes **** up).

A con from the beginning, not telling the public that it was an advisory referendum so that the politicians would decide the form of the new relationship. A mandatory referendum would have been a clean break the day after, as Cameron said. May says it is the will of the people but decides what it is herself in a country house. Ever heard of a golf club where non members get the choice of times? How long can this shambles go on?
