I don't se why the surrounding areas are any concern of the club. We don't close shopping centres, cinemas or parks because of snow in "surrounding areas". Let people make their own mind up!

 

its more the areas within the ground :) if anyone slips and hurts themselves in the grounds owned by vale its a compo claim

Albion on Boxing Day about 1993 is the most recent "snowy pitch" game I can recall.

To have 'NO' pitch (surrounding area) inspection is insane.Unfair on Cambridge the fans travelling.Unless the club are at least 90% certain the game will go ahead.There should be one no later than 13:00 to be fair to their fan's.Then IF it is off at least they can turn around and go back before they get to Burslem (and then find out its off)

 

Premiership games never seem to be called off no matter what the surrounding areas are like.

That's why Public Liability Insurance exists.

 

Surrounding areas is often given as a reason for a game to be called off.Even though they have public liability there also have a duty of care.If claims are made against the club then the clubs public liability costs could go up.

We won't see our own players and be able to make good clean passes to them either. (But that happens every week anyway snow or no snow)

That was clearly a game the club didn't want to be on. I reckon the inspecting ref made a little bit out of that decision
