Vale fans moan ??? Never!!

Unbelievable that the thread has been reduced to petty bickering amongst ourselves, my end's better than your end, ner ner ner ner ner .

I go in the Bycars and am not bothered one iota that i have to move. Also i want a 3-00 pm Saturday kick off as that is when football should be played.

My reading is that they ( Vale, Old Bill ) have come to some agreement to gather the crowd in less areas so that it is more manageable to steward. Yeovil will be lucky to bring 150 maybe? . Because some of the stewards probably work at both grounds the closure of certain areas means less stewards and the go ahead for 3-00 pm .

As for people moaning about attracting gates, the FA Cup is dying on it's feet and has been for years, the crowds in midweek at Bury and Accrington were shameful. Vale have done all they can at £12 a pop and i'd say 3500 will be an anticipated gate.

Rant over.

Sorry Jean but ime certain that the fa cup 1st round last season I sat in railway stand due to bycars being closed ( can't remember who we played but I remembered reg scoring twice ... think we won 5.0 ... )apologies if I got my facts wrong. ...

I also sat in the Railway Stand for the cup matches last season. It is a good view up there, I had never been in that stand before.

You may well be right - I’m just so used to having to move from there. I think the Railway Stand is the best view In the ground apart from the Presidents seating. I know it’s a matter of opinion though. I know some Prem League clubs close parts of their ground for some cup ties. Vale aren’t alone in doing this.

I think some need a bit more perspective to be honest. All clubs generally shut the least used stands for games like this to save money. If all were open, Vale would lose out on gate money because of having to pay more staff. So then they look to the choice that upsets the least amount of people, therefore closing the Bycars. Despite having to sit somewhere different for a home game or two per season, surely it's understanable that the stand with the least amount of fans & atmosphere is closed? Anyway, I don't think it's that big of an issue. I'd be happy to sit in any stand, but looking at it objectively, I've sat in them all & the top centre of the Paddock is by far the best view in the stadium IMO. Asking them to shut off part of the most popular side of the ground though is just catering to the minority.

Regardless of all of that, think yourselves lucky you can actually go! I can't go now because they've put it on the Saturday :shifty: (& I'm only free that weekend on the Friday). BUT, I am happy that hundreds more get to go in my place & create a better atmosphere, rather than not be able to if it was on the Friday. Hope you all see a win, & I get to see us in the 3rd round.

Post of the thread and kills all the moaning and daftness hopefully 🤞🏻

15,000 empty seats and we do NOTHING about it, but that's OK?

So typical of many Vale fans. Think small, stay small. Know our place. Show no ambition, imagination or creativity in case it succeeds.

I'm sure Huddersfield, Bournemouth and plenty more wish they'd just stagnated. Look where they are now. What a disaster showing some ambition has been

Of course we’ve done something about it;

* We’ve managed to negotiate a Saturday game which should boost attendance

* We’ve priced tickets attractively

* We’ve closed a stand which puts more Vale fans together to boost atmosphere (in doing so we’ve followed the lead of many bigger clubs in cup matches)

If people don’t see these as positives I despair.

Now to create a great marketing strategy to sell tickets for the game.

I have already said it is common sense and a good thing to have it on Saturday.

But let's not have posts making things up - the ticket prices would have been the same 'attractive' prices on Friday and the same stands open either day.

Ridiculous to try and pretend these are additional positives from it being Saturday.

Smithie is right - much more needs to be done to get a decent crowd in.

Come on Darren get a grip of they sen.

Non of us give two hoots who sits where as long as we all turn up.

After years of serious doom and gloom it’s nice to have a banter with fellow Vale fans.

My choice since I was a lad 40 years ago was the Railway.

Would sit wherever especially at the moment.

Never felt so positive about the vale since the old Sir John days.

I feel they are just around the corner again

I would guess that there will be a shortage of stewards, I would also guess that the police "suggested" that the attendees be confined in a smaller space and closing some exits and entrances to cope with the stewarding shortage?

Given that the obvious stand to close would be the bycars as its the furthest from the road.

I doubt crowds will improve until the team is much further up the league and something drastic is done to actually sell and advertise the product

And the Bycars is clearly the least populated.

And on top of all of this the club has done we now have a decent manager who has galvanised under performing players lifted moral and fitness and is getting results.

Come on people let’s look at the positives and put the Potteries negativity to one side.

I'm totally with you on banter, nobody more sarcastic than me. Honestly my opinion is people are peeved and upset because their precious Row C Seat 28 is not available for one game.

I heard a guy on Praise and Grumble still wittering on about the Crawley game about 6 months after the event because he had to move !!!

I am with you totally positive about things since the change was rightly made, just feel some isn't banter it is usual moan for moanings sake.

No kick off can satisfy everybody, there might even be people on here gutted it is now a Saturday as it clashes with Chelsea v Toon Army
