I might be wrong but I'm not entirely convinced it is Aspin.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling one of the candidates will be Paul Ince.

 

However I'm really fearful about Smurfs Grimsby comment and I pray to God it is not Ravanelli because it would be an absolute pantomime bound to end in relegation.

 

I do think it would be a win-win for somebody like a Cotterill, who is looking to re-build his reputation even if he didn't stick around for too long. The squad may not be great, but it's not relegation (I don't think) and with a transfer window to go I really think moving us up the table is almost guaranteed with a bit of organisation and playing to our strengths.

If Aspin is an option then it's a no brainer. He would be class as a manager.

Although I think Neil Aspin is the best defender that I have ever witnessed pull on the famous white shirt, and as much as I think he is a fantastic bloke and a club legend, I really don't want him as manager.

 

I just feel that should it all go wrong it will ruin everyone's perception of him just like Glover before him.

 

I hope I'm wrong and he becomes not only a legend of a player but a manager too, but I'm just fearful of using club legends and would rather have someone who has never been involved with the club before.

 

who gives a **** if it could go wrong? It could go right for once! I don't think badly about Glover as a player, i think he is probably the most cultured centre half ever to wear a Vale shirt, but he wasn't cut out for management. Aspin on the other hand has been managing for 10 years and has a good track record

Possibly the best footballing defender I've ever seen in a Vale shirt, his dad was a lovely guy, shame Danny didn't have the attitude of his grandad and more importantly thenfootballing ability of his dad!
