Signings - Part 2

It's a big job rebuilding from a very low base.

The call in the past was for a clear out.

That happened by offering poor contracts and was really very underhand.

Then we had the massive influx.

That failed.

The club is now in the process of stabilising, building both a team and a reputation.

A hell of a lot of factors that are getting in the way of our ideal of bouncing back.

I am praying that Adam Yates is going to be backup??

I genuinely don't understand why we have offered Yates a contract and I'm even more bewildered that he didn't snap it up the second it was offered.

Apparently being on holiday for a while is the reason he hadn't before now, but he's been back over a week (or two) now I think if so!

 

Don't think there's anything wrong with offering him a contract as a back up in L2. won't be on much anyway so won't affect the budget a great deal to have him around, which might be valuable in ways other than on the pitch.

I'd imagine Yates will be back up covering both RB and LB ? We need to sign two recognised players in these positions as i can't imagine Kelly being thrust into the first eleven yet.

Not a prayer of getting him unless really pushed the boat out ,Stephen Darby is the man, 200 games for Bradford in the last 5 years and released in May. Still not got a club, as i say probably out of our league.

 

Yes, and he would be yet another player who has promotion experience from L2 - with Bradford in 2012-13. A former captain too. Would be a great signing.

Yeah looks as though we're obviously waiting on a few first choice players (if squad numbers are anything to go by these days), which is somewhat encouraging, as it suggests we may sign slightly better than we already have.

 

I'm going to take a guess at Danny Green making number 16 though.

Neither has Danny Green but he's training with us too. I take your point, & I did say about a week ago on here that I'd have preferred Purkiss, as he would probably be better cover, but he obviously wanted a starting place & to move back down South anyway so.
