Here's what Smurf can do next season

I don't for a minute think he'll sell the club and I don't for a minute think we'll be in League One next season. Right now, Port Vale is a failing project and any businessman worth his salt will want to fix what is broken before selling. For a start, he won't get anywhere near asking price in the fourth tier which means he will not sell.

Here is what can be done to (maybe) get the fans back on side;

1) give us the highest budget in L2 next season

2) hire a well known, respected manager. Michael Brown is not the answer. For the Brown fans saying "this is not his team", only 3 players on the park today were Bruno signings. This is very much Brown's team.

3) offer Smith and Streete new LONG-TERM deals

4) reduce ticket prices and season tickets. Take the hit.

5) pay money for an established league striker and keeper. Back the manager.

6) for the love of god get rid of 75% of the squad, predominantly the foreign boys and the washed up forner PL stars such as Taylor

7) do not make rash decisions. Consider throughly every decision you make. Sleep on it.

8) do not fight with fans on social media. Your goal is to attract stay-away fans, not criticise them. We are your customers investing in the product that you are selling.

Yes, this is a disastrous season but I believe we can come back stronger and with momentum next season. Smurf will not win all the fans back but a good season in L2 will bring back the "feel good" feeling we all had a few years ago.

Feel free to add more.

Surely the answer to "Here's what Smurf can do next season" is ???? off!!

Believe me, Ive said this many times. The chances are, he will be Chairman next season so nothing wrong with trying to be productive. We as Vale fans know what's wrong with the club better than anyone

3) offer Smith and Streete new LONG-TERM dealsHE WILL DO THIS, BUT THEY NEED TO BE OFFERED DECENT RATES THAT THEY WILL ACCEPT

4) reduce ticket prices and season tickets. Take the hit.NOT A CHANCE

6) for the love of god get rid of 75% of the squad, predominantly the foreign boys and the washed up forner PL stars such as Taylor will cost money and he wont be willing to spend it

7) do not make rash decisions. Consider throughly every decision you make. Sleep on it. I AGREE BUT HE WONT. HE THRIVES ON IMPULSIVE DECISIONS

8) do not fight with fans on social media. Your goal is to attract stay-away fans, not criticise them. We are your customers investing in the product that you are selling.HE DOESNT SEE IT THAT WAY IM AFRAID

How about either selling up quickly, or setting up a proper plan including manager, budgets, prices (as above) and sticking to it rather than reacting in panic to every setback.

If you are staying, make no announcements whatsoever, wither on Twitter, Facebook or any other way - get someone with PR skills to do it for you.

And if people are going to post on here on your behalf or showing support, get some credible ones.

If he won't sell or the right buyer doesn't come forward our best hope is he feels the club be needs to be in league one to have any chance of a decent sale.

He changes what he says he will do regularly, last season he was all on about cuts etc then decides on this big experiment (which with the amount on the books player wise must have cost more than last years squad surely!)

He doesn't need a mega budget to get out of league two, the three bigger clubs are coming up to league one and if Tranmere don't come up and say Luton come up to league one we will be one of the top three biggest clubs in that league (especially if Swindon stay up). One of those biggest clubs, Coventry are in a worse mess than we are.

It needs a sensible summer, it seems little to ask but has been difficult to get in recent times!

We will either keep Smith or get a decent fee for him so Smurf needs to invest the money at least. Doncaster have shown what can be done from this position and we can still salvage something and have a really good enjoyable season next year. It doesn't look as tough in terms of big clubs in that division that we had during our last spell but we have to flex our size and that involves acting our size.

Every other owner of a football league club tends to see it as an opportunity to raise their other business profiles and sir at the top table of some exclusive places. Once Billy left Vale do you think he still got invited to the wembly finals or league chairmens conferences etc? No, he was back in the bar of the Black Horse with no chums. Just another ordinary millionaire. The ego that gets someone to the top needs to be stroked. Smurf appears to be such an ******* *** he could be one who can't capitalize on being a club owner. I bet he could make twice as much than he loses on owning vale if he was a different personality. Just a thought
