Thanks for the info and lovely post SE7.

Where abouts is the pub you mention, we're coming in on the train to Charlton station abt 1.30ish so will be looking for somewhere for a beer or two?

Theres 2 pubs quite close to the train station one called rose of denmark the other i think was called antigallican.

R

If Amoros isn't picked for this now I fear for his future at Vale

On performances he deserves a place, but none of us know how he plays it behind the scenes. His jaunt back to Monaco seemed to be unauthorised, and I don't think Brown was impressed.

It's a tricky one...do you send out a good player with a questionable attitude or a mediocre one with a good attitude?

...I'm with Smithie on this one. I also think Amoros deserves a place, at least on the bench, based on his performances. However, he seems to have had the cold-shoulder treatment a la Purkiss, so probably felt that as he wasn't getting a look-in anyway, he might as well nip home for a break!!

When you arrive at Charlton station you will see the main away pub The Antigallican(named after a ship launched nearby that translates literally to HMS French Hater!) opposite you, turn left towards Greenwich and the Rose of Denmark is 5 mins further up on the left just beyond the BP Garage. No problems with away fans pre-match, home fans lock afterwards sadly.

I'll be there tomorrow so I'm hoping for a good performance, ie, one much better than the ones I've been to so far this season. Charlton are under pressure so we need to extend that pressure on to the pitch and be lively from the start, plus actually try and attack a bit. Not an easy game by any means but we need to try and win it - and that means try properly rather than play to keep it 0-0 and hope to nick one on the break, a plan that has failed miserably numerous times.
