micky calls for unity

I find it slightly amusing that Adams feels he is in the position to call for 'unity'.

Micky, where was your show of unity on December 30th 2010?

That's right Micky, it was walking out on us.

Such a pity party.

I'd be very annoyed if any manager of Vale wasn't interested in whats best for the teams preperation.

Why protest before matches and disrupt the players, do you want success on the pitch or don't u care knowmore cause your not attending the games. Stinks of selfishness to me. Yeah u can have my scarf i'll throw it to u when i walk down from the crown to ur march haha.
The biggest protest of last season was also Vale's biggest win. So if anything it helps the players and keeps them on their toes.

If we stop protesting we will be stuck with this amateur cheapskate board for many more years. Where have you been for the last 8 years. Why do you want to see more years of Vale suffering in the 4th Division with this crap board.

Please tell your buddys Oliver and Bratt when you see them that the protests will NEVER stop until they go.

Pity party? Like it, new phrase I've not come across before. :)

I personally don't think lining up an excuse for the current squad to under-perform is the best for it's preparation.

As we saw in the 2nd half of the season, this squad became quite adept at under performing under a variety of excuses. The last thing they need IMHO is to be given an excuse to under perform 48 hours before a game.

Had Gannon made a similar statement he'd have been hung out to dry.

Of course, in an ideal world, there wouldn't be any protests. In an ideal world, there would be 6,500 Vale fans minimum there trying to roar the lads onto an opening day win.

The fact the fans are protesting isn't the fault of the fans, and of course, the power to prevent a protest lies entirely with the board. IMHO, Micky would be best trying to find the solution via that route and his influence within the club rather than trying to appease a group of fans he walked out on a few months back.

Back to the original point...

Genuine question: In what way is Micky "getting involved".

He said that he was only becoming a Director in order to sign players.

As far as I can see, nothing's changed from that.

I'm happy to be corrected though, so no jumping down my throat thanks!

As above.

Several thoughts here - the march didn't seem to upset the players when we beat Morecambe 7 - 2 did it, the players won't be in the dressing rooms when the march gets to Lorne St - they will be out on the pitch, the "young lads" won't be playing will they Micky, maybe you should have told them that the club is in crisis Mickey eg IF we go into Admin their contracts are worthless, and finally, GO AND ASK BRATT & OLIVER TO ACHIECE HARMONY. ===

In fairness, i think the manager has every right to call for unity. I think you're getting unity and loyalty a little mixed up.

And also, if Vale came after me and said that they would quadruple my salary if i would be willing to manage them, i don't think i would show my current employer any loyalty...or unity! ;)

Isn't it actually possible to do the march and then sing pro-Vale songs if you're loitering outside.

Save the actual protest chanting until after the game - that shouldn't be beyond you should it? End of story, best of both worlds.

Whatever we say about the players they showed last season that they haven't got an awful lot of character - they are the type that need encouragment so don't give them an excuse.

That is the plan depending on the numbers im sure no matter how many remain outside you will here them cheering on the players, the difference is they will be outside just the same as the fans that will be at home/work listening to radio!

No one moans about them ones or the few thousand that only appear when we draw a big side in cup or play stoke? just the few fans/shareholders that want real success on and off the pitch not just for the club to treadwater in lg2!!

Micky speaks...We should listen

Vale legend in the making....Surely...:)

Legends don't shi* on you at the first sniff from a more beautiful suitor. He has achieved nowt at PVFC, NOWT so don't mention the words Micky Adams and legend in the same sentence.

I'm not going to the game nor have i had a ST.

All that i care about is the 11 players performing on the pitch and that we dont get relegated. I'll check the results, read the match reports and browse on here. Thats all.

So you are helping to starve em out. It is just in a different way. I'll be on the march. I'll be outside the ground. I'll be listening to the match, I'll be protesting after the game. I'll then go home. Just like you I'll be starving them out. It's just a variation on a theme isn't it?.
