my post was in reference to Stone Valiant saying the club are desperate. Any business is desperate for custom. 3,500 season tickets sold proves that they are not actually in that much trouble when you think of the extra sponsorship and catering revenue. Add on to this there will probably be more pay on the dayers if we are doing ok, all in all meaning we are more than likely doing better for money than we were last season.

But Bill Bratt stated correct me if I am wrong that we need 10,000 through the gate to break even, I think we are a long way off that.

And if your happy carry on to your hearts content:(

But do they support the board just because they have purchased season tickets?

No they don't. I know people who have bought season tickets because they want to watch the games but still want the Board out. The sale of season tickets in no way reflects support for the Board.

Whoops, there goes your argument! :D Still, proves you talk ***** like we all knew anyway!

Either way, we are down on season ticket sales. Depending on which make believe figure you take from Charley Boy, we're 15%-20% down on last season. If the majority of those are adults, thats between £150k and £200k down on last season already. So even with these new additional deals (which you have to remember will need to cover the lost revenue during the season from no sales of food etc) we are clearly worse off than last season.

i meant to put 3,500 because that is the figure we will have sold by tomorrow (it wouldn't have ended my argument either way).

Lets assume that half of the 15% are 60% adults and 40% children. Without doing any maths, you're probably talking less than £100k down on last season. Add to this people effectively paying double the price when paying on the door (going to be more pay on the dayers than last season) and it quickly makes up for the lost revenue.

Starve em out clearly hasn't had made that much difference to be fair which is pleasing.

ok if we have sold that many how come they are still cheap? seems a bit odd i beleive they have sold no where near that figure thats why the cheap tickets remain......

You have absolutely no idea at all what effect SEO has or hasn't had .

Assumptions prove nothing, the figures you spout are not confirmed , only time will tell .

The only indications at this stage are the somewhat desperate pleas by our current CEO for people to hand money over ,no matter how much or how little.

I wouldn't put too much faith either in the attendance figures for the first few games especially if things don't go too well on the field . I think someone will be approaching one our previous chairmen for the loan of an old calculator that was rumoured conjoured up a few figures in days gone by.

But by their own admission they need gates of over 6,000 in order to not record another loss, and yet this year alone, ST sales (by your own figure) are down from 4,300 to 3,200 - that's down 1,100. So I'd say they are desperate for custom!

And you think there will be more pay-on-the-day trade? With the prices going up to £20.50? You need a lesson in economics mate! there is no way we are going to be better off than last season!

So you admit you're making numbers up then? That's good.

100k down would be 417 adults. You reckon we're 600 down. That means 350 adults and 250 kids, which works out at more than 100k. So whatever way you look at it, your maths are flawed.

Starve em out clearly hasn't had made that much difference to be fair which is pleasing.

A 15% to 20% loss in customers is a huge loss. Any business that would be pleased with that kind of loss will be bankrupt pretty quickly.

Are you the Vale financial director? It would explain a lot!

That sounds like a worried statement. The tax-man's dream. Port Vale would be the only club in history to announce there were more fans on the day than the actual attendance

Which office do you work in again? If you were in such a high level job, why would you advertise it on a football website - Surely you wouldn't leave your reputation open to be fired at by being such an opinionated and prominent poster on here?

Of all the places you could live, you choose Stone?

1. So you are calling me an idiot, which is probably the most idiotic response to the question I put which is pitting my economic and business knowledge against yours - wow, what an insightful and highly intelligent response!

2. I'm proud of my job and what I have achieved. What have you achieved other than being Timmy Mallet's play thing!

3. My reputation is sound as a pound mate. Care to make any disparaging remarks about it and we'll see what my solicitor thinks, eh?

So kindly take your abusive comments and threatening remarks elsewhere and try and have a sensible and intelligent debate about the economics of the club if you can!

Oh, and Stone is a great place to live thanks, loving it! How's your hovel?
