Don't know whether this has been posted before but ex Vale winger Johnny Miller passed away 18th Feb. Played for vale between 1980-82

He was in the side when I was first taken to Vale. I was very young so can't remember him in detail, but can just about recall that he was one of our better players.

 

Did he play higher up (1st\2nd Division clubs) before he came to us, as I think he was knocking on ("experienced"!) when we had him.

Remember him well. Think we signed him from Mansfield Town. Played at a time when we were struggling to say in the league. Really sorry to hear he's passed away.RIP

Didn't he make his debut against Tranmere in a 5-0 win or something like that. Great player to watch. Very sad news.

Wasn't he forced to retire when he was at the Vale? I vaguely remember him getting a benefit game but I can't remember who it was against.
