Yates should never ever have been given a new contract in the summer. It's unfair on him how out of his depth he is at this level. Cue the usual 'he always gives his all' comments. I would give my all but would be hopelessly out of my depth. Purkiss is a far superior footballer and one bad game doesn't mean he should have been dropped.

When I play on a Thursday and the game passes me by I call it a 'dodds' performance. 1 half decent game in 10 is nowhere near good enough.

Why do we insist on playing the same team after a win? they knew exactly how we were going to set up and who to target, it's so basic, play the right team for the game, not just be lazy and play the same team. Do we not scout the fact that they've got a decent left winger? If not, why not?

We're so incredibly inconsistent but why are we surprised when the back 4 today was essentially the one that was so poor last season?

If Adam Yates ever plays for Vale again, Rob Page wants arresting for impersonating a football manager. Louis Doods is pathetic as a right winger, unless Byron Moore is injured I am mystified

Its a case of some players knuckle down to the task in hand - others just knuckle under.

Like wise some managers can motivate and inspire players to achieve higher expectations of them selves- then again, some can't.

 

I would refer you to today's Crewe result ----- When we went there not too long ago we were 3 down because we hadn't really got a game plan and the weak willed ones ruled the team.

 

If Page keeps saying "the lads gave me everything" - then perhaps he should consider that he may have chosen the "wrong set of Lads" once too often.

Have the players been called in for extra lessons on their day off? If not why not.

Well not for the first time I wake up to the 'news' that we had no bottle and that Yates and Dodds were passengers.....

 

It needs sorting out.

 

I worry that if our home form should start to falter at any stage we could have a few issues.

The Sentinel photographer did a remarkable job of getting a shot of Yates within 10ft of the Wigan left-winger. The only time I saw him get any closer was when they shook hands before kick-off.

Vvery true Beechy very true. I just hope that any new owners will dump the ****** 1st chance they get.

 

He only got the job in the first place because he was cheap and also paly with a lot of the players. Nobody can say he's been a disaster or anything close, but I just don't feel the club will ever go forward with him in charge no matter who is running the club. I've asked this question before and I'll ask again. Would any other League One club go on for Rob Page if he was available tomorrow? Absolutely no chance.

At the moment the table not quite a true reflection, a number of teams with games in hands, especially when we play again on Tuesday night, I don't think we will go on a run like last season even after today's shambles, the home form would have take a dramatic turn for the worse, we also have 10 home games remaining as well, only 7 away.

 

If Yates and Dodds remain in the team on Tuesday night then I think Page has lost the plot, you might as well have got 2 people out of the crowd on.

Under Adams we scored goals (top scorers in England), under Page we rarely score goals.

 

Under Adams players were committed, under Page the players couldn't give a t***.
