The ongoing despicableness of the Conservative Party

One last question - and not one meant to criticise, but can you explain why, if you feel many other things have greater priority, why you have spent so much time replying to this thread on first aid and not highlighted and made proposals for the stuff you see as being so much more crucial ?

Because I have to emphasise that I am not against First Aid in principle..but to try and push it as compulsory at tax payers cost has to be considered way behind the priority we are facing as a country with the problems of extremism in our Schools and wider society. I thought someone as astute as you would realise this.

If people are studying or working in fields in which first aid practice is few and far between it wouldn't be beyond any average human being to forget what they were taught. In answer to your question, maybe we will need first aiders if there are further incidents like Paris. So perhaps my suggestion that teaching Equality and Diversity to young Muslims/other ethnicity young people as a priority may make more sense.

There is a saying 'Prevention is better than cure'.

The prevention you talk about is a long term goal and will not be achieved overnight. The cure could be in the short term.

There are bigger tools on this site than him. I won't name names and no not you.

Something of a back-handed compliment but on here you take what you can get. :)

Others have disagreed with you about the esteemed Mr Guppy but I couldn't possibly comment though a quick trawl back through his posts is very telling.

One of the biggest 'tools' seems to have disappeared (not complaining) lately, hence my post with the question about Silverdale, I did actually know where it was, you were right on that.

Enough about other posters - I always treat it as a victory to get a hefty minus score by the way though.

More importantly, there is little point in me saying continually that because there are other things more important than first aid (I agree, there are, like TTIP, climate change, extremism) that it shouldn't get any attention, and you saying pay attention to the other stuff - I suspect we are actually agreeing in principle. The first aid thing has been highlighted so I will leave it be now, at least on here.

Labour and Corbyn get 100 times more bashing on here than the tories.

He's not 'scared to push the button'; he won't as it is against his principles. Pressing it does not take any guts, deciding not to in the face of public hostility does.

I don't understand your last paragraph.

Anyway, I keep saying it but I'm not talking about JC on the tories=to$$ers thread.

But you are talking about Corbyn again. And you only get slated because you are so blinkered, so don't be surprised.

This new thread tends to prove that you have an even more one-eyed view of politics--open your eyes wider--all political parties try to skew the view of the world--that's why they're political parties! And they all have some good points, but all too many bad ones as well--as voters we just have to choose the lesser of a number of evils--nothing's perfect. Chill out and eat more curries.

Not on this thread again. You say blinkered, I say passionate committed socialist! There is a thread where people have completely slagged off Labour, dragged up and willfully misinterpreted things that were said years ago and spent many posts scoffing and sneering without any attempt and debate or discussion. It seems a bit rich to complain when there's a tory equivalent.

But this isn't anything about skewing views of the world or whatever. It's about some tories deciding that they will deliberately spoil any attempt to progress three very worthwhile and decent pieces of legislation.

Please answer this: why would any politician be so against ensuring landlords make their properties fit for human habitation, first aid education in schools and free hospital car parking for carers? Why would someone be so against these that they would be prepared to stand up and chunter away for an hour, just to sabotage them? Wouldn't you agree that's pretty loathsome behaviour?

If you were sat next to me at work today, the last thing you would be doing is recommending that I eat more curries...
