Page won't see christmas.

Fair play he has had a reduced budget, but that doesnt mean he has to waste it on utter rubbish.

At least 8 of our squad should not be there and 4 better players on better wages should have replaced them.

 

Streete aside, im getting more and more wound up with our pre season signings by Page and the ineptness shown by the chairman to give this clown the job in the first place.

Thursday afternoon: Page says considering deal for Leith Smith and loan striker!

 

Nice to see manager and chairman singing the same tune, or not! It could only happen at the Vale couldn't it!

 

Regards Leitch-smith when I saw him for Crewe he looked okay so no harm in a trial but would also like to see another forward with hopefully a better strike rate!

Typical vale fans slag a player off before he has even joined or played a match!

 

On paper he dosent look the best, but if he signs can we please back him? Looking at Gills forum when they signed Willo, they could see his record but are still optimistic and arent throwing stupid statements like 'page gone by christmas' around because of one signing.

My statement of Page gone by christmas is an opinion based on his signings and incase you have conveniently forgot, the shocking demise in his last 11 games last season.

He should never have got the job in the summer and did nothing to warrant it.

That's pretty good going. Having a 'fluke' season.

I'm happy give the lad a chance, the loan signing is the critical one and now the pressure is intense on page and Smurf to get it right otherwise we a screwed. Thing is we're gonna get injuries up front too then what???

Smurf mentioned about he (Page) could be out by end of September.Page then gave HIS retained list.Apparently Pope would be easy to replace on a lesser wage.If we don't get off to a good start then Page could be on thin ice very early on.But this lad deserves to be given a chance.

I agree with the last two lines completely. But this is a new season, and I commented on a different post about the signings and am struggling to see why you feel they are weak signings, surely Foley, Grant and Streete are excellent signings. Kelly we dont know and Purkiss looks decent enough.

Fluke season?!? How on earth do you fluke 33 goals in a 50+ game season?! Ridiculous.

Also spoken to a Crwho fan. Decent player, but not an out and out striker. Would be competing or be backup for Dodds as the support striker. Not the goalscoring striker we require, but we need someone who can play the same position as Dodds and this guy fits the bill.
