He's crap. Terrible attitude, and he doesn't even have a lot of ability as some people try to insist.

 

 

Well he does have the ability, hence being promoted from this division, poor attitude for us. But I cant help thinking he would thrive under a manager who wants to playing a passing style, Mk dons rated him when he went on loan there.

I think Rob Page is right to posture for money in return for Chris' contract :)

 

So do I, completely agree. I just think we'll see not paying up his contract and the money saved on his wages as a result. I don't think fees tend to change hands in situations like this one.

I think we'll be lucky to get anything, but we have every right to ask for a gesture from them. Plus there may be fees our end for any sort of transfer away from the club, in his contract.

 

No real skin off our noses if he doesn't go anywhere, the freed up wages would be handy but it wont make or break our season.

 

If they want him, they can chuck us £50k and we will be able to get a loanee or two in if needed.

But some people go on about him as if he was some kind of lower league Xabi Alonso. He's a fancy Dan and isn't the kind of player you want in a side that need to try and outfight most sides in the league to achieve positive results.

Last pre season he was played just behind Pope, Adams set up the formation similar to our promotion season. Lines just behind Pope and gave him the number 10 shirt. Come the start of the season the formation went back to 4-4-2 and Linesy was dropped back in CM. When he came from Sheff Wed their fans were saying as long as he is played with a bruiser in midfield he will be quality in League one. I think the formation we play really restricts his ability.

 

I agree, feel that he looked good in that role (we also did it a couple of times at the end of 2013/14 season).

Managed get promoted from this league and impressed with mk dons though.....

I feel Lines was our best corner taker and he was a reasonable midfield passing type player that could make a run. It all depends on his wages as to whether he was good value or not. But he wants to go to Bristol Rovers and is prepared to step down a league to do that it seems. So nothing more to do than wish him good and say thanks for his time at Port Vale.
