I didn't say, "Good addition to the squad". He's scored 6 in the Lge 1 and 4 in the cup, not fantastic I agree but as a squad player who gives options he's worth a contract, he, Pope and A N Other as described above would give Rob Page choices.

Don't see where the connection is between us conceding and Williamson leaving the pitch.

 

Williamsons pace is useful and we certainly need Pace upfront, without question. Surely there is a player out there with pace who can also score goals? I'm not talking about a 20 plus a season striker as I doubt we'd afford that, but at least someone who has more about them than Ben.

I never was. Like most others i noticed how poor we were up front. I simply wanted the lad to be given a chance. I mentioned every time he may well not be good enough, but he deserves a go when the other forwards are under performing. Maybe after a pre season he will be decent. Again who knows. As for Williamson yeah I heard he did much better yesterday but that dosent mean he deserves another contract, he's scored what 6 league goals and generally has been very poor. I just think his time with vale is over and we've carried him the last few seasons, time give someone else a chance.

I agree. Poor control, physically weak, no footballing brain and poor fitness levels are some of his other attributes.

We are talking about keeping a guy who had a failed trial at Cheltenham. Yes Cheltenham before joining us from the Glen Hoddle last chance saloon. And who has been with us for 3 or 4 seasons now and never looked like anything.

 

If he stays he stays as a wing option but not a striker. I could have scored some of the chances he has missed this season and im fat and nearly 40. There has to be better pptions out there.

 

Nothing against the lad Ive heard he is a decent bloke and generous with his time aroind the fans, but maybe he lacks that nasty selfish streak that makes a 20 goal a season striker.

Ha great assist maybe you should watch it again - he mis-controlled it, started chasing after it and it fortunately fell to Pope.

Nowhere near enough for a new contract though. Not in league 1, he's had more chances than any other vale player and just dosent cut it at this level. If players like him are signed up I will be seriously worried about next season.
