Good news for lower league clubs

Forgive me for being a little cynical here, but I strongly suspect most of this will get swallowed up by parachute payments and schemes to further reduce ticket prices for upper two leagues. If we get anything over and above £200k I will be very suprised.

Fully agree. The PL have distorted the figures by including the parachute payments in them and I suspect that they will do the same again.

It surely doesn't create a level financial playing field if we do get promoted and get, say, £2-3m per year (the solidarity payment for the Championship) when there will be at least three clubs in the Championship getting £15m in parachute payments (and probably another half-a-dozen getting £8m a year in parachute payments).

reminds me of an unofficial closed shop.

I'll believe it when it happens. If it does at least it is a small step in the right direction.

Totally. It's not even like it's a moral thing - it's common sense. If they continue to let the gap widen then the whole structure becomes noncompetitive and if there's no excitement or drama then the TV companies will probably think twice about paying such big sums in the future.

why can't the 72 league clubs be on the tele twice a season one home one away game also stop the long distance night games so fans can travel back and be home by midnight.

Because the viewing figures would be rubbish and the advertisers wouldnt be interested.

Well, if you are working the next day you are not going to travel to, say, Portsmouth to watch Vale on a Tuesday night, are you? It's common sense.
