You love a dramatic word don't you...berate indeed! ;)

I didn't berate anyone, just said discounting ticket costs simply don't work, you have to come up with clever ideas like Jacko, Bald Eagle etc. have done.

No it was a detailed idea which incentivised the fan, the mate and the club on a sliding scale, take a look back as it was quite detailed.

Berate = dramatic eh .. Ok something else we differ on !

I have tried the catering .. Maybe we should put the prices up for it & demand more people buy the pies - maybe even with a promise of adding chips to the menu if more people buy ?

Or we could improve the quality of the catering

Have these customers loved your company since birth and been influenced to support you by their families?

What sector is the business in?

No - but even if they had i wouldn't take it for granted that they would just simply keep coming back for more

One of largest accountancy firms in the country

Next home game after Tues is good Friday against Colchester, so maybe Smurf can drop the price for that game to maybe a tenner??Could quite possibly get 7k if did that, just to get some ****** atmosphere down the Vale..

That weekend is a bank holiday weekend.First one of the year.A lot of people may plan to have a weekend away ,more so IF the weather is good.Dropping the price to £10 could be very costly.

. You run your own business don't you ?? You put money in yes ??? Do you expect your customer base to just increase because you ask them to come & buy ? Maybe you should say hey if more people come into my shop & buy I'll invest in a new premium range .. Simple really isn't it ?

Totally different.

Which clearly he isn't doing' date=' he incentivised people by saying attend and we will sign more players, simple economics really.[/quote']

How about the simple economics of invest & they will come ?

We would have had more there yesterday if we'd have actually signed a player (not one who didn't even make the squad btw) than talking about it

Simple economics really

How do you attract new customers though as well as retaining those who already do business with you ?

I run a business .. Very competitive sector, we have 99% retention level and our core biz grew 26% this year

Same in any field, all about the customer experience

Do your customers buy from you 23 times + per year?

Are they customers or supporters?

Does your customer base drop off at any time through the year?

11 pages about offers, prices, bring a friend etc etc ad infinitum . The crowds are low because the home form is poor. Full stop. Win homes games and the crowds will come. Play poorly in the first half of 75 % of home games and they will not . How many more games do we have to start on the wrong foot before someone twigs. HOME DEFEATS WILL NOT INCREASE GATES.

The club makes no money at all from the catering, the catering rights are owned by a private company, so if every one who attended bought 10 pies it would not benefit the club

I think I am right in saying this will change after June this year when the catering contract expires and I think Smurf is on record as saying he is looking to bring it back in house.

As for reducing prices, that doesn't work, maybe because the only people who get to hear of the offers are people who would be attending anyway,as the offers are not advertised anywhere other than at the club.
