Stay away fans

I didnt think the football was dire, but have to say there was more atmosphere in '' Home bargains '' in Boslem than at Vale park, now that's dire !

In my opinion we have to be in the top six before attendances will improve. I think the casual fans (like those who watched us lose at home to Crewe) don't believe we are good enough to make the play offs.

There are very few people who are Vale "fans" and choose not to go to games. There are people who have an interest in football who will turn up for the success, but "stay away fans" do not exist.

 

We have 4000 fans. All the youngsters watch Stoke. The sooner we realise this and stop fooling ourselves by harping on about the thousands of Vale fans who choose to stay on Saturdays, the better.

 

Sad but very true and a realistic appraisal. Sadly smurf is putting the cart before the horse and preaching to the converted. Sort it in the summer and the success will follow and hopefully the crowds.

The problem is the decent ST prices expire before any signings have been made. The best way to instil confidence for next season would have been a good finish to this season, including winning the occasional home game.

Why do some people keep blaming the fans for the clubs problems? The bottom line is we don't have the regular fanbase that people keep dreaming about and the product on offer isn't good enough to attract drifters or new fans - it's not rocket science. Instead of continually bashing the fans, why not improve the clubs commercial activity, because it seems pretty stagnant recently.

1 thing that really pi sses me of with this site is the fascination with attendances. The fact is if we played football like Swindon and won at home then attendances would be there. The fact is rob page is not the answer. FACT

im sorry but fans wont turn up with the current crop on the pitch. theyre *****. end of. we knew it 2-3 years ago but adams persisted and page is stuck with a team hes getting the absolute most out of. doesn't help really when the worst player on the pitch gets bigged up by the chairmans daughter on twitter.

The only way to attract more through the gate is by regular victories at home with attractive football and even then it is a long term project. We have had over 10,000 regular attendances in the past (a long way in the past) and most of them are no longer with us. To succeed we must develop our own players and it would help if the present day followers would stop rubbishing our own players, particularly when they give no reasons for their criticism.
