New Loan Signing - Achille Campion

Good signing :). looks like a good Ariel threat and a good goalscorer. 33 goals in 41 games in the usa :). not bad at all.

Video looks like College soccer to me so not very high standard, not MLS or even the next tier down.

Good luck to the guy, hope he does well at Vale but I'd rather we spent the money on a defender.

First Frenchman to play for us since the dizzy heights of Christophe Horlaville?

He is indeed (see the article on OVF here - http://bit.ly/1w0D0zG)

To me, he looks to be the replacement for Hugill. He's strong, got some talent but he appears to have had his career stalled by injury and college. I would imagine Vale will be seeing him as a raw prospect that perhaps they can hone into a better player, just like Jordan.

I just hope that if he proves to be a rough diamond that he hangs around a bit longer than Hugill.

Is this a signal that we are about to sell Tom Pope?

I personally can't see that. I think if Pope were to leave (and I don't see him doing so) then surely we'd replace him with a proven player not a raw "chancer" like this one.

To me, I see it more that Adams is looking to replace Tomlin and Hugill and give us enough options up top.

If Slew is the Tomlin replacement then I see Campion more as the Hugill replacement - a back-up and junior to Pope that can hopefully learn from him and push for a first-team place - not a replacement.

Which begs the question...........why did none of them take him on?!

I guess in Bradford's case they went for a more proven forward like Billy Clarke instead.

I personally like this move just like I liked the way we picked up Hugill from nowhere and developed him.

This new guy appears to be a raw player with potential.

If it doesn't work out then he's only on loan.

If it does work out then Sheff Wed's, Yeovil's and Bradford's loss is our gain... ;)
