"Illegal migrants in Calais should be sent to Britain!"

Does anyone have the hard, cold facts about the benefits they get in France compared to what they'd get here? An easy system is surely to reform our benefits so that they get exactly the same as France, giving them no reason to want to come over.

If France's are lower I would not want our benefits sytem reformed downwards; reform France upwards by all means

Ethnic riots in Calais as migrants strive to reach 'El Dorado'.

With the recent outbreaks in Africa I do hope they give them medical checks when they come over here?

Chances of any of them having ebola are I would have thought ridiculously small..much more likely that a Brit will retrun from abroad with some sort of infection..should they (all of us) have medical checks before being allowed to leave the UK and on returning?

There are no free benefits in France, you have to pay into the system first through taxes, security charges and the like.It would help if the EU had a level playing field but it's never going to happen.

Looks like they started to get tough on non-Eu migrants a couple of years ago

Really? Brits carrying infections (HIV, lyme disease, MRSA, STIs etc) should be free to travel wherever they wish unchecked but we should pick on anyone travelling from/via Africa? Much more likely (I would have thought) that a Brit travelling to Africa is carrying something nasty than someone from Africa is carrying ebola.

Good on France for taking some action,in my opinion if they are genuine asylum seekers they would seek refuge in the first country they arrived in.Most of those camped up in Calais are simply benefits migrants who are hell bent on reaching the UK for one reason alone.

It is the case that once here, they have little respect for this country but wish to create their own "space" and live in isolation.

British Airways seem to think there's a problem with Ebola?
