Apart from maybe Pope, all players look elsewhere before signing for Vale. Let's be honest if they could get a better deal elsewhere they would be off like a shot, it's a fact of life that happens at all clubs.

Don't see why people are so bothered if he goes Gills, he was a good player yes and always gave it 110%, but nothing special. There's plenty of players out there better than loft, i know id rather see the cm with Lines and Knott for sure. So Let him go in my opinion he wants to be closer to his family fair play to the lad.

Loft is far more beneficial to the team than Lines in ever department except corner taking

I'd give Lines up in a heartbeat to keep Loft. Lines is great on the days he turns up, he's carried otherwise.

I understand your sentiment, but in that case we'd never sign anyone (unless they were the quality of Liam Chilvers!) we're port Vale, not Man Utd!

 

Also, didn't Fergie re-sign Rooney twice after he handed in a transfer request!

A little harsh. I always thought he was better at left-back or left-midfield than he was in the middle. He was often guilty of fading and disappearing as the game wore on. Although a good servant to the Vale, I think there are better players out there.

I'm surprised with some of the comments. Loft has been a decent servent to vale and always gave 110%, he's stated for a while that at some point in the near future he wanted to move back down south, he supports gillingham. How can anyone blame him? Play for the club he supports and live close to family it makes sense. Those saying good riddance are being extremely harsh on a player who has always give it his all and was a key player this season and possibly deserved player of the season.

As supports we forget that 98% of footballers have no emotional conection to the club they play for....were talking about jobs and careers when it comes to making a living in lower league football not just hobbies. Any player that doesn't have a look what else is available when out of contact would be a fool. So I gathered you were disappointed when MA rejoined us after going elsewhere for 6 months a few years back?
