Always struck me as a horrible glorified man raking in a fortune and developing a career on who he knew. Now proven to be a truly disgusting individual. Hope he rots.

I dislike and loathe the man immensely, but wouldn't it be intriguing if he were to 'kiss & tell' on some of the so-called celebrities who have kept him in business by paying him fortunes to keep their names out of the media over the years--a really neat irony if that were to happen me thinks! Anyone share the same sentiments?

Its quite rare to see consecutive sentences, I think they should be used more often

He was dealt with as the law stood at the time the offences were committed.

 

From the Judge's summing up:

 

You were charged with indecent assault under an Act passed in 1956. The maximum sentence for these offences was set at two years imprisonment. By the time that the Sexual Offences Act 2003 came into force, the maximum sentence for sexual assault was increased to 10 years. What is more, some of the sexual acts of which you have now been found guilty would now be charged as rape or assault by penetration for each of which Parliament has laid down a maximum term of life imprisonment.

 

You will go to prison on count 3 for 12 months

On count 4 for 18 months consecutive to the sentence on count 3

On counts 5 and 6 for 24 months on each concurrently but consecutively to counts 3 and 4, making a total in respect of this victim of 41⁄2 years

On count 8 for 6 months consecutive to the other sentences

On count 9 for 6 months and on count 10 for 21 months to run concurrently with each other but consecutively to the other sentences.

On count 11 for 15 months, to run consecutively with the other sentences.

Your total sentence is one of 8 years imprisonment

It was an interesting summary by the judge.

He could have only got two years - as that was the tariff when he committed these heinous crimes. Maybe his barrister expected him to get only that. But the judge, wisely, considered all his offences and the fact that in 2014 he could now get life and tried to balance everything in his sentencing.

In the circumstances it is probably about right. He could have got away with two years under a more lenient judge.

Seems like more alleged victims have come forward since this trial so there's every likelihood that his sentence will be extended.
