Maybe a strange suggestion and don't shoot me down but has anyone ever considered Griff as a centre half? He's big, strong, has some pace about him, got a great jump and good at tackling... and in that position his passing would necessarily be an issue...

I haven't seen him since he returned to VP, but I always got confused by people claiming he can't pass. He must have one of the highest pass success %s at the club in recent years. He breaks play up and finds a man, and is composed. Compare that to the likes of Gary Roberts, whose passing people raved about despite his pass success % probably being much lower, yet 1 in 100 passes were a beaut over the top a la Gerrard. I know which I prefer.

When Griff first arrived he was not the greatest passer of a ball.

It was cringeworthy to watch at times.

 

When he left us for Orient he had been a much improved player.

 

Anyone who says he still cannot pass a ball needs to glue their eyes to him for 90 minutes. Its a myth.

 

Like it or lump it, he will be one of the first names on the team sheet every week...... And rightly so.

 

We would have lost that game today had it not been for Griff.

He is pivotal to how we play.

We need a winner and someone to break up play. Griff is ideal for us.

Griff showed yesterday why many folk wore an 'I'm going Gay for Griff' tee shirt a couple of seasons ago. He was my star man yesterday and feel he only faded a little in the 2nd half due to the possibility of seeing a RED card as he was spoken to by the ref on several occasions. I agree with other posters that without his battling qualities we would have lost the game yesterday.

As I constantly ask fans to see the good in Loft and after yesterday he proved me right ,again, I have to say that as one of the "doubters" of Griff I doff my hat to his performance yesterday. I saw in him a battling midfielder that allowed us to hold a good side to a creditable draw. With the players we now have in and around Griff we may actually see his proper worth to our Team.

 

Good on yer Griff, keep it up, please.

Fair play to Griff and Loft yesterday, I had/have my doubts over both in League One but Loft especially I thought was excellent and both ran their ***** off for the cause which helped us get the point!

Griff was hard working as usual and put himself around the park. Good passing most of the match and not scared of going in. Can only get better which more matches.
