I don't want to be to over the top but looking at the other teams in this league I can't see why top 10 and pushing for playoffs... Looking at other squads we have some really quality... I work with a Bradford fan who still thinks their squad is better than ours..

No one is acting like we've signed Pele or Messi. What we've got here is a player who has been well-regarded by fans of previous clubs whose competitive level was higher than our own. The excitement comes from the fact that we've been able to attract a player who can compete and compete well at this level and beyond. Nothing wrong with that.

 

He's not here on some evil Stoke plot to destroy Port Vale. His arrival doesn't damage a heritage here that includes contributions by individuals who also played or were associated with the enemy. Unless he later pulls a Lee Clark and wears a shirt against his club whilst drinking with fans of our arch-rival, Dickinson should be welcomed as one of our own.

 

I'm pleased that a player with quality experience at a higher level would choose Port Vale regardless of where he earned his pay in the past. He's chosen to wear the Vale shirt. In some ways, the Dickinson signing represents a considerable point of departure from where we were not too long ago. We should all be excited, as it represents a commitment from the owner and staff towards competitive excellence where stagnation and decline once seemed certain.

This is a quality signing dont care what anyone says, he's proven at a higher level and is a good age and I reckon Vale is the perfect place for him to get his career back on track.

I don`t get this stuff about him being a Stokie, he`s a pro footballer and gives his best for who pays him. If Stoke signed me(I`m still good enough for them, despite being 50) I`d give it me best, I am in fact available to replace Palacios or Carlo Nash. There`s nothing better than converting a Stokie to Vale and making him realise the error of his ways.

You never know how a player performs in your team until he is in your team... I have no problem with players coming from anywhere or any team provided they perform well.

I remember Greenhoff coming in 81, some moaned some didnt.....

 

I appreciated him representing the Vale at my mates funeral.

 

If he wears a vale shirt he is a vale player.... no matter where he came from or goes to.
