Micky Adams has performed a minor miracle this season.

 

Certain peoples grudges are unjustified and quite frankly pathetic.

 

I cant wait for him to prove his doubters wrong again next season.

at the beginning of the season we had only 3 players under contract every other player could have walked away but they didnt because of one person MICKY ADAMS they believed in what he sold them and look at the season we have had the guy as got this club of its backside and rocking.

With only 12mths left on his contract i think Wildes will be having him and Page in his office soon trying to sort something out with them both.

As the person who started the "Adams Out" thread following the Bristol Rovers game I must hold my hands up and admit the emotions of the season got to me and I got it so so wrong. As someone who before Saturday had never seen a promotion the passion overwhelmed me at the thought of blowing it again and I think the panic set in. The lads made us sweat a bit but they've done the job now and I will be eternally greatful to them for that.

i used to regularly slate him (on here, not shouting over zealous abuse at games as i don't think that's productive) so it's only fair i sing his praises at the minute. he's been brilliant the last 5 or 6 games i've been to

When he gets us into the championship and we stay there for 6 seasons, then I'll buy Mickey a flat cap.

Even those who don't particularly agree with his tactics (and to be fair, his substitutions can be hit and miss at best), must now respect Micky for taking the club from admin to promotion in 1 season. How can anyone not respect the guy for that?! Fair play Micky and thanks!

Agree with this. Haven't always been a huge fan, but he has done what he said he would and in pretty entertaining fashion at times.

Hey up Spunks. I think that I may be one of the people that you are referring to on your post. Let me make it quite clear if that is the case that I have never called for MIcky's head. Yes I have been critical of his team selection and tactics at times but I do consider that in L2 he is a good manager three previous promotions proves that.

I am as happy as the next guy that we have gone up. Next season starts with a 'clean slate' I shall we there just like I have been for over half a century cheering and crying over every game. Will I criticise the manager? Well that's for certain if I don't agree with his team selection. That's a fan's right getting promotion hasn't particularly proved what I said was wrong because maybe we could have ended up as Champs. It's all ifs and buts but like you I will continue to support my team where it matters.... inside the ground.

Anyway buddy you are one of the guys who certainly deserve all the success that this season has brought us because there aren't many who would keep flying over from Norway like you have done. Final question 'Is Norway really so bad that you keep trying to escape?' ;)

I think that the criticism was nothing to do with leaving for Sheffield or siding with the old board , it was for letting a 12 point lead slip with some dubious decisions and performances, although I think the abuse Andrew received was uncalled for. I've seen far worse players at Vale including this season.

At the end of the day we have to say well done for the achievement. we certainly were'nt given any chance to relax like Man U have.

Not my favourite season, John McGraths promotion always tops my list , some very good performances with some (fortunately fewer) poor ones. Surprised he never sorted out the slow defensive problem.

I totally respect him, and his opinions, he said himself he was not very bright at times, thanking ex directors demonstrates this.

He would be a very rare manager, a very, very, special one, if everyone agreed with his selections and substitutions. Attacking football, results, and promotions define a manager in my book, long may it continue. Personal opinions and interview retorts enliven the journey home.

I think that this thread demonstrates that when we critisise and moan (certainly in my case) we do it out of frustration, because we care and because we want the best for our beloved club. Sometimes we are right sometimes we are wrong. In this light I have no regrets about critising Micky - never calling for his head note - over his tactics and substitutions usually.

 

Right now I'd like to shake his hand, offer him the chance of sharing my box of tissues to wipe his tears and thank him frm the bottom of my heart for, in particular, holding this team together .

 

Next season normal service resumes and I expect to write a few posts questioning his decisions but for now I love him!
