As the person who started the "Adams Out" thread following the Bristol Rovers game I must hold my hands up and admit the emotions of the season got to me and I got it so so wrong. As someone who before Saturday had never seen a promotion the passion overwhelmed me at the thought of blowing it again and I think the panic set in. The lads made us sweat a bit but they've done the job now and I will be eternally greatful to them for that.

He has his flaws but don't we all. It will be very interesting to see how he does in league 1.

 

A minority on this forum hold a petty grudge against him for not publically berating his employers, and have used some of our poor performances and results this season as a veil to disguise their attacks on him. I don't really buy the jumping ship argument either. If you can't see why he had to leave to go to his boy hood club then you should perhaps go and look at the pictures of Pope being carried across the pitch the other day.

 

Hopefully they have now realised what he has done for this club, he deserves as much credit as Wildes and Smurf, if not more, in my opinion, and bar a relegation next season he should go down in this clubs history as the man who carried us unscathed through one of the darkest moments of our existance. Yes the last 5 years have been poor, but since Micky came in we haven't been in danger of relegation, and despite all the odds we have actually managed to compete for a few years in a row and had outside playoff hopes for much of the time he's been here.

 

I happen to think he'll do a good job, some of his signings haven't been the best but some have made the difference. Admittedly signing and persisting with big calv does take the gloss off a bit but this is the first time he's had money and time. There's no reason why good footballers wouldn't want to come to a club that is clearly going places. This summer should be amazing really.

Micky has done an excellent job ST,but to compare him to Rudgey ? Not just yet eh?

Certain fans like the OP just made his job even more difficult if anything. Adams out threads were completely uncalled for and hopefully next season those fans with grudges and the easily excitable will show Micky a lot more respect.

It's been a very strange and traumatic few years, hopefully things will level out now. Micky took over a club in crisis, he did well, then he left, then he returned and took us up after admin, god knows what will happen next!
