PG - Morecambe were pushing up tight and there was loads of space behind them for balls over the top for the wingers to run on to.

 

We have plenty of pace up front but don't use it - just get the ball over the back line into those acres of free space and give Vincent and JMW the chance to show their pace.

Agreed. I thought they played a basketball style Zone Defence and didn't give our forwards any space to run into.

Burger ran his socks off today it wasn't his best display on the ball but still got forward and wanted the ball.

 

Loft was awful again for me. It needs shaking up in the centre.

JMW should have been taken off at half- time along with Hughes and Vincent.Doddsy ,Williamson and Morsy on, Lofty dropped back to left back ,Jones to go to left wing.JMW's head went after the first half incident,Ashley is having a 'mare at the moment,Hughes can't run.

The subs made were embarrassing, even the Williamson one, sacrificing a goal scorer when we need a goal, we should have risked it and brought him on for Vincent.

Highlight of the game for me was Burge's tackle from behind on the edge of our area in the first half, if he got that wrong he'd have been off but he got it spot on, best tackle I've seen for awhile and when a tackle is the highlight it shows we had an off day today!:D

 

I agree Tosh ,bliddy great tackle aswell as one or two superb runs into the box but let's not forget he should be threading balls through to the strikers,knocking them over the top for the wingers,taking all the free kicks and corners and not least of all,sticking the odd one in the net.What do you reckon Tosh £5million for him?:rolleyes:

Great argument, I don't see your point that Vincent contributed well just because he got fouled, that isn't a contribution, we had this discussion against Plymouth, another game on which he didnt show up. And I actually like Vincent I just realise that he isn't performing at all and needs dropping. Simple as.

I thought Vincent had a better game than of late, being kicked every time he went near the ball didn't help, though. I also thought Shuker looked OK when he came on, for me the most disappointing sub was Andrew - still not sure why we have a centre forward playing on the left wing. As for Williamson almost made an instant impact with his break into the box but then became pretty anonymous.

Hughes and Pope together just doesn't work for me both far too static and similar, this policy of playing these two together costs the team, it stifles the forward line and stops any creativity. Its not rocket science Micky
