The English Riviera: Target 1,000 fans to make the Torquay trip

With exactly one month to go; do you reckon we can take 1,000 to the Seaside for Torquay away?:D

 

Or am I being too ambitious in hoping we will take this many? (the majority of whom will make a weekend of it).

 

Fair few of us are in at the Travelodge, circa 20-25 mins walk from the town centre. Bargain £43 a nite for either a double or Family room. Booked the Friday off work for this one.

Still don't think 1000 will go though, given it is February. 700/800 tops, which is still decent considering the distance.

Decent shout. It's a pretty new and modern one the Paignton Travelodge is, drove past it a few times on half-term breaks with Parents.

 

Paignton as a town has seen better days imo. Torquay and Brixham nicer places to stay.

Looking forward to the match and nights out!:pope: Tend to agree with Andy(cv) I reckon 750 is definately achieveable, the only downer is it could be a bit on the chilly side as it was 3 years ago when we went in Feb and won 2-1! I think we took around 400 odd?

Has anyone else got The English Riviera by Metronomy? Possibly the only every concept album made about Torquay. Quality.

We took 650-700 fans there a couple of seasons ago when we were just above mid-table.

 

Admittedly it was end of March/April time (0-0 draw), when it was a little warmer. But many will still make a weekend of it and we will take at least 800 fans imo, as long as we're still up there.

 

The Rainbow Hotel in Torquay is always advertised in The Sentinel as part of a 5 day excursion in South Devon. Heard it can be a rowdy hotel with discos and the like at times though?!

I believe the Kidsgrove eight have already booked the best rooms in Torquay for this one. I have been advised to take my speedos.
