Steve Fox - What can we do to help?

Hard to look past Guppy, Chamerlain or McCarthy but outside of these three other good wingers were Colin Grainger, Peter

Sutcliffe (the footballer) and we had a winger in the 60's/70's called McMahon (not the Liverpool Steve) who was like the proverbial ***** of a shovel.

Do you mean Micky Mahon?

I can't remember Cunliffe and Askey, sadly, but in my time of supporting the Club - 49 years - I think the player who stands out for consistently performing for us is Steve Guppy.

Mark Chamberlain was a prodigious talent but he didn't stay for long.

See your argument .... but playing for England within 6 months and he was ubplayable in his last half season in Div 4.

I can't remember his christian name but could well be Micky, I looked on the the OVF database but no hits came up for Mick McMahon, maybe his name was not entered. I remember him being very quick and he played on the right hand wing.

The OP was actually asking if there's anything we can do for one of our best wingers Steve Fox who is currently very poorly. The thread title is perhaps a little misleading and i'm going to change it to something that'll give users a better idea of what the OP is saying.

So...what can we do for Steve? Any ideas?

over my 42 years+ of supporting Vale; Overall play, I'd say Guppy because he could defend as well. For shear excitement it would have to be Ainsworth as a pure winger, though. McCarthy would be in the top 3 or 4 but he kind of benefits from the Guppy McCarthy double act a bit as well.
