When there's less than 40 in the away end , I think a crowd of over 4000 is a great effort for a bottom tier League game considering what's gone on , going on and the opposition .

 

It's ok for dour Ray to continually moan about attendances , how much did he pay to get in ?

 

Come on Ray , Radio Stoke are down on us enough , without you pouring petrol on the fire , how about a bit of encouragment and enthusiasm for a change.

I agree - I've enjoyed the commentaries I've heard from him. I personally think that some variety would be good as although I enjoy listening to both Mick and Ray, it may also be nice to get another perspective from someone else from time-to-time.

Adams and Williams are not best of buddies as is well documented........Santa says its to do with RW scouting for Crewe against the Vale. I will ask RW if its the root of their problem and see IF he wants to 'Blog' his answer......

Just spoke to Ray......He will always thank MA for his fantastic support when he was receiving his Cancer treatment a while back and he will never forget it. Ray and Micky have clashed over certain Football issues including the Crewe scouting issue when MA accused him of leaking the Vale side to play Crewe Alex...Ray was holidaying in Spain at the time. Ray biggest issue at the Club has always been the OFFICIAL letter he received from Bill Lodey with certain 'accusations' aimed at him. He is not a happy bunny over this. Anyway before anyone shoots the messenger i suggest if anyone wants to know more they contact Ray .

You're entitled to your opinion, but I beg to differ.

 

In my view, it offers an interesting "insiders" view into some recent events at Vale Park and I'm delighted to be publishing it.

 

You can, of course, decide not to read it or indeed come onto OVF- that's entirely your choice, no-one's forcing you on here to read our (free, daily) content.

I just want to expand on my earlier point. Ray's blog has six entries, I'd be fascinated to know which ones constitute a "disgrace":

 

• Two are memories of his playing days
  
• One is a comment on how Lee Sinnott came to be approached as manager
  
• One is a comment on how Ray may have put a bet on Micky Adams joining Sheff Utd
  
• Two are comments/observations on Jim Gannon's regime
  

 

So, leaving aside any views of "negativity" when he is on Radio Stoke which is nothing to do with his OVF blog, I'd be interested to know why any of the above stories have earned the description a "disgrace"?

 

If there's some perceived criticism of current staff in the blogs please show me where, because the only people who are criticised as far as I can see are two ex-managers (Gannon and Sinnot) and the former board (for appointing Sinnott and Gannon).

 

Even that criticism is clearly labelled as Ray's own views (as blogs are by definition one person's "weblog" (i.e. views)) of the situation and not an undeniable fact. There's always a right to reply to Ray's views via the comments box at the bottom of his articles.

 

In my view, I didn't know the story of how Sinnott was approached, I was fascinated by the details of Gannon's tactics and I enjoyed the memoirs of being a Vale player in the 1970s - and I wouldn't have known about many of those things had Ray not blogged them.

Must admit about the negativity. I was driving to Brum on Tuesday night and managed to listen to the 1st half on radio and all he kept going on about was the poor crowd, no atmosphere etc

 

The crowd was poor as was the atmosphere,so he wasn't too far out there.

I haven't heard his laugh i just don't like it when he talks.

I think some people are over reacting, he says it how it is! The support is poor sometimes and the atmosphere is dire at home usually. I do prefer Mick Cullerton though.
