Idk, between fighting amongst ourselves on here and the people I’ve met who lurk on here and don’t post (who mostly don’t care about the ownership since she’s paying the bills)… we seem to have little hope as a club of progressing.

When the relative success of cup runs and promotion years dry up perhaps people will start to unite.

I’m willing to overlook the 7-0 given who we were playing and where, but the club isn’t half depressing me with how they are conducting themselves in the media and an organisation. It’s amateur, it’s apathy and I get the sense they don’t really care long as they - the ownership are enjoying the days out - don’t care about anything else. They are conveniently ill and AWOL when sentiment gets negative (when it’s probably munchausens) and everywhere when it’s not.

Going the Vale for me is just a chance for a few beers and watch 22 players kick a ball for 90 mins. But it could and should be so much better. We deserve that much.

Sums up where I'm at really as well.

The thing that pulled us all into the Vale was the team on the pitch and what they represented.

I've been going since 1990.  I've seen the best times we've ever had on the pitch and also some completely and utterly depressing dross but I am actually finding the current situation the most testing for me as a fan I think.

The Shanahans have always had credit with me but that will have gone at 16:50 on the 2nd May.  It then ALL depends on what we do this summer.  And by that, I mean changes at the top.  If they persist with folk like Hancock, Darnborough etc then that tells us everything.  They've failed, miserably, time and again. Darnbrough is a career failure.   He just gets passed around clubs not doing what he gets employed for.  Hancock just isnt up to calling the football shots at a football club.  Keep them, and I definitely will be of the opinion the Shanahans need to call it a day.

The image we put out as a club i find really uncomfortable.  We do a lot of good, and thats commendable, but come on, partying with Buttons after a 7.0?  He's got be the biggest hanger on ever him.  The El Presidente <ovf censored>.  To be fair, I don't think people would be bothered about all that IF we'd got the football right.  And, sadly, I don't think the family cares enough about that side.  Putting a side out on a saturday that the fans identify with should be the standard.

If they don't want to do that then it is 100% time for them to sell up and go.

There's definitely no hope for you. Why do you even troll Port Vale on social media when you have not been in years and no intention of going again. If that's your stance then just leave it be and leave supporting Port Vale to the real supporters who don't give up because they don't like a particular owner or manager or the person who sits next to them. We have had some dire, teams, managers and owners in my 65 years of supporting the club. Players, managers and owners change like the wind but Port Vale is part of my DNA and nothing will change that.

I would go back but there are probably too many things that need sorting first

One of the saddest posts I've seen.

More to do with me wanting to point out that ST continually bangs on about how he was the cornerstone of previous attempts to get rid of the ownership yet now seems content to sit on here and bitch rather than actually do anything.

That and he takes the p1ss out of people who died from Covid, as my uncle did, so he pretty much deserves all the criticism he gets in my opinion.

I got to know you very well late in the 2000s, early 2010s.
Cheeky Steve. Bede. Mellor. Rory. Dean Leese. Santa. I’ve missed loads out I know. It’s late.
There wasn’t many of us but we spent a hell of a lot of time in getting Bratt and co out.
Years later we opened up fans eyes to Smurthwaite.
And as time has gone by and certain people (none that I’ve named by the way) have cuddled up to Carol and call themselves supporters, it’s just one step to far now to get together collectively and call it out for what it is.

Im sure all those names mentioned have different lives and couldn’t really care that much about Vale as they used to.
And that’s where I am.

I will always love Vale. My dad made me a fan. His dad made him a fan. And his dad made him a fan!
And that’s what a football club is all about.
Pure love of a club.

I don’t love this club anymore.

If you had said to me that I wouldn’t go Chelsea away in an FA cup quarter final, 15 years ago, I’d have laughed and ridiculed you.
But I can’t be arsed with the state of the club, the players, the pathetic CEO, the manager who is happy to be at Chelsea, the owner with her pom poms.
The club is rotten!!! They have produced a club that is rotten through a nicey nice approach through a hierarchy who just want virtue signaling days out, cosying up to Robbie Williams and the likes, and when it gets tough they or should I say “she”, goes into hiding.

17 million in debt.
A squad worse than when she took over.
A club dying on its arse.
And not many fans can see it.

Port Vale Football Club should NOT be in the 4th division. Period.

And if it were 2010 we would all be in uproar and as a group, that group of great people who I mentioned, and more, we would be calling her out for the calamity that is Port Vale in 2026.

However, its apathy times 500.

I sent an email to the club months ago expressing my disgust and also said I would happily meet up with those at the top.

You know me. I’m no keyboard warrior. I’m easy to find.
I got a generic reply.

Everything about this club stinks. They live in a bubble.
Id love Carol spend a game in the Hamil. See how you can’t get served at halftime because the agency staff are garbage.
Then sit on cold dirty seats and watch the crap on show.

I don’t have VTID tattooed on my bum.
Ive got a small little beauty that probably wouldn’t fit those words on!!
But we ain’t in 2010 no more and that group of people, who saved the club, have moved on and don’t have the energy, other than posting on here.

The best way to get at Carol and the absolute clown that is Hancock, is keep messaging and keep asking hard questions.

Port Vale have amazing fans. And I do mean amazing. Going to watch this tripe week in week out. The club doesn’t deserve it.
And Carol Shanahan doesn’t deserve (in my opinion) any of those fans money in the coming weeks through season ticket sales.

It’s all well and good to have an owner with a bit of money. But she had NO CLUE as to how to run a football club.

The only difference with her and Norman is that she isn’t letting the club rot but by god she has wasted 17 million so far and it keeps going.
At some point MORE fans need to wake up to the fact that she will NEVER make Port Vale the brand she wants it to be.

A long rant I know and I could go further.
She, anyone, can come at me. Message me. It’s painfully obvious this club is on its knees.

Two options for Carol……

Sell the club. And let someone come in with some proper nous. (Bearing in mind she’s been here for 7 years, debt free, in league two, and we are now 17 million in debt, with a worse squad, in league two next season!) Or…… Sort your <ovf censored> <ovf censored> out Carol. Sack the idiot Hancock. Get a proper structure.
Employ the BEST director of football available. Cut down on the hundreds of staff that basically are robbing a living. And sort this football club out before the fans leave in droves and we end up in non league.

Carol Shanahan. The honeymoon period is well and truly done.

If she reads this I want this to sink in……..

Port Vale Football Club….. Under YOUR ownership…… Right now……. Are an utter embarrassment to the footballing nation.

Take a back seat.
Take your family out of the running of the club.
And get some actual people in the hierarchy who know what the <ovf censored> they are doing.

Goodnight.

"Goodnight"

And will be back again after the result on Tuesday playing the same old record.

"Everybody knows me"

No one has a clue who you are I'm sure the club don't.

"I sent an email to the club"

Im sure they quaked in fear at that.

Two points - it was never a pen - he drew contact deliberately- and Gauchi was fouled for the 5th…..not suggesting we deserved anything but those were two typical premier league decisions

If the 5th is a foul it’s time to pack in football.

We know that chelsea are light years ahead of us. But why are our players so bloody slow? It's like they are running through concrete in flip flops trying to catch them? 🤷‍♂️

Have you ever, however long ago it might be, tried running against someone who is genuinely fast?

I'm not talking Olympics fast, "only" sub-12 seconds for the 100m fast.

It's a different planet, that is approaching 20 mph pace, and few people are equipped to get near that.

Chelsea's money largely gives them the pick of the world's footballers, with only a few clubs able to compete with them, which is why they can pick up not only highly skilled players but also players who are exceptionally fast.

Our players aren't slow, George Hall and Ben Waine for instance are at the upper levels of EFL1 speed capability, and most of our players are EFL1 capable purely in terms of their speed.
(Yes, I know, don't state the obvious.)

But that is not the same level which the bl**dy world champions have at their disposal.

Let's be realistic, eh?

Gauci wasn't fouled, he is a physically weak goalkeeper and gets outmuscled in situations like that, pretty much the same for the first goal and then for the 2nd at Wycombe last week too

He was one of a number of fans who strove for the very existence of the club you now claim to support. What did you do in the war daddy? Why are you so resistant to calls for improvement in the way the club is run , do you actually enjoy being relegated ?
